Coming off the uber-successful Into the Spider-Verse and Across the Spider-Verse, Beyond is set to release in theaters sometime soon, closing out the Sony Pictures' animated Spider-Verse trilogy. Funnily enough, a plastic variant of Spider-Man was almost featured in the movie. Director Dos Santos told Empire: "One of the Toy-Biz Spider-Man toys was going to show up and he was going to have a giant kid's hand that would go off-screen and hold him." The team ended up scrapping the idea to keep Miles' story "cool, emotionally". Looking at recent releases, 2022's Bullet Train (starring Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor-Johnson) was released in theaters on August 5 and made its way to Netflix by December 3. This is 67 days after its theatrical release, and it's safe to say the Blu-ray, DVD, and 4k physical options will go on sale a few weeks after.It means that it will be at least 2024 before Across the Spider-Verse hits Disney+ in the US. Unfortunately, like the Netflix deal, the same deal doesn't apply in the UK so it's not a guarantee that the sequel will be available to watch on Disney+ in the UK. Sony Pictures signed a deal with Netflix, which started in 2022, that its theatrical released movies would eventually head to the pioneer streamer during the coveted pay-1 period. The official release date of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse has been announced, indicating when the film will begin streaming on Netflix. Sony has a relatively new streaming deal, where in essence, its films head to Netflix first for 18 months, then leave that streamer to be available on Disney+. The film continues to remain off the Sony Pictures slate for 2024, with no indication of when it will come to theaters.
