About this deal

STUDIO SERIES DELUXE CLASS: Deluxe Class figures are 4.5-inch collectible action figures inspired by iconic movie scenes and designed with specs and details to reflect the Transformers movie universe, now including The Transformers: The Movie! This character article is a stub and is missing information on their video game appearances. You can help Transformers Wiki by expanding it. Sideways operated as a high-speed reconnaissance operative with the ability to snipe at Autobot opponents from afar with his plasma sniper rifle, engage them up-close with his rapid-firing slag repeater, and slow enemies to a crawl with his graviton mine when he needed to get away. He uses a pair of saws in melee combat. What should have happened what some clear plastic "shoes" you could clip on his feet for posing. Give him a small toe like side arm (so he could be posed without the clear feet) and make him look like he did in the movie...falling over wheel feet or not. Sideswipe's MechTech weapon, a large blaster, can convert to a runed Cybertanium sword with the press of a button. The weapon can be stored in any of the three MechTech ports in either mode, all of which include the spring-loaded filler piece to hide them when not in use. While the box art shows the blade of the flip-out sword painted blue with white Cybertronix runes, the final version opts for bare gunmetal plastic instead.

Besides his speed, Sideways enjoyed using deception to get himself out of trouble. This didn't work very well on Rollbar, who planned to make the lying Sideways an acquaintance of his fists. Why Sideways decided to change his paintjob for this meeting was anyone's guess. Rollbar VS Sideways The figure suffers from a small design flaw in that the front hood of the car is attached by such tiny pegs that it pops off quite easily. While in many ways simply a larger version of the Deluxe toy, it has several changes. The wheeled feet may now fold out into a stand system, allowing Sideswipe to stand without having to balance on the wheels, or be left as is to retain a more rounded look, and his blades are now rubberized to prevent injury and damage, as the blades lay flat underneath in vehicle mode. The sword-hands can also be slotted into a gear system connected to the front wheels, which causes them to spin as the wheels are turned. The passenger's seat may either be used as a seat for Epps, or turned into a missile launcher slung over Sideswipe's left shoulder. That was his huge difference between him and every other autobot...he rolled around like he was on skates..in rotf with the sideways scene his feet were highlighted well. It's a huge part of sideswipe to see wheel feet....and this figure just does not at all. Despite Studio Series' prominently featured numbering system, there are several numbers missing from the line, as of writing these being: 86-18 and 94. Additionally, 79, 86-13, 86-20, 86-24, 95, 96, and 102 are missing, but are assigned to the Buzzworthy Bumblebee version of the line, though it is unclear if there are any plans for them to be released in the regular Studio Series line as well. 74 Revenge of the Fallen Bumblebee is the only set so far to be re-released in the regular line after debuting in Buzzworthy Bumblebee.Unfortunately, some copies of Sideways have very loose ankle joints, meaning he can be quite difficult to stand up. This is due to his very thin leg design, as well as most of the figure's mass being included in and around the upper half of Sideways. However, one can use Sideways's gun to help with his stability by having him holding it down to the point where it touches the surface Sideways is standing on.

Sideways's license plate in Revenge of the Fallen reads "269 FPJT". It can be briefly seen twice; however, the only time it's seen in its entirety, just before Sideswipe splices Sideways in half, the letters and numbers are mirrored, implying that the shot was mirrored in editing. His 2011 Hasbro bio gave him a new quote (one based on what he'd said in the Titan issue quoted up top!) along with a revamped bio that factored in his sniping ability from the console version of the Revenge of the Fallen video game. [7] Transformation is pretty fun and not too complicated, though there are two issues I have with it. First, a lot of parts "collide," unlike Jazz I worry more about the paint rubbing off on this guy.

iconic modes – this toy features classic conversion between robot and 2011 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray convertible car modes in 18 steps. Perfect for fans looking for a more advanced converting figure. For kids and adults ages 8 and up. Sideswipe's instructions aren't clear as to how his torso is supposed to connect with his chest in robot mode. The torso piece has a square peg on top of it and there is a corresponding square hole between the two screws holding the front of his chest together. Getting his torso section in front of his arm struts can be a somewhat snug fit. Along with Breakaway, Sideways was initially released in two color schemes, a light silver version and a less common very dark silver version. If you move the headlights, doors and legs of the lighter Sideways to the darker one, allowing for a dark hood and roof, and silver everywhere else, it helps to make for a slightly more movie-accurate Sideways. However, the stripes will still be missing. Figure features classic conversion between robot and licensed Chevrolet Corvette Stingray modes in 19 steps. Sideways's toys and merchandise are not licensed by Audi, and are thus merely approximations of the R8. However, Sideways's appearance in the Revenge of the Fallen video games is fully licensed, so he is accurate to the car used in the film and has Audi's logos and signage.Like all Human Alliance figures, Sideswipe is designed to allow his accompanying human figure, in this case Robert Epps, to ride inside. Figure features vivid, movie-inspired deco, is highly articulated for posability, and comes with 2 blaster and 2 blade accessories I wish the wheels were painted, but I'll be painting this guy up anyway. One downside is I have trouble getting him to roll, but personally that's not an issue for me. He later collected some loose Energon around an airport in East Asia and a nuclear silo in the Sahara desert, and also assisted in reviving Megatron. Revenge of the Fallen: Autobots/Decepticons

A metallic redeco of Swerve (itself a retool of Revenge of the Fallen Deluxe Class Sideswipe sporting an alternate head sculpt), presumably as an homage to Generation 1 Sideswipe. While it has never been confirmed, the move to include 1986 characters in the Studio Series toyline after three years of continuous focus on the live-action films, was likely done to allow Hasbro and TakaraTomy to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the film, without stepping on the toes of the Beast Wars 25th anniversary, which was celebrated as a part of the War for Cybertron Trilogy. Evidence suggesting this is the inclusion of some of the film's main characters ( Cyclonus, Rodimus Prime and Galvatron) being sold in the concurrently-ran Kingdom toyline and the shared design aesthetics of the toys between both lines.
