Absolutely, the Timex Ironman Classic 30 Full-Size is a breeze to use. I mean, it’s almost like they designed it with the non-tech-savvy in mind. You’re not going to get lost in a maze of menus or settings. It’s straightforward, no fuss. Perfect for those of you who just want to slap on a watch and go. But let’s be real, if you’re diving into the world of triathlons, this simplicity might feel a bit underwhelming in the long run. The AM and PM appear in the same place on the display; there is just one little segment that lights up to turn the P into an A.The speaker plays a different sound for the alarm and the timer, so you know which one is going off without looking at the screen. Also the Indiglo light flashes. When turning night mode on, the Indiglo lingers for another few seconds after releasing the button. But when turning it off, the light extinguishes immediately! It should, since if you are turning night mode off, it's probably daytime and you don't need the Indiglo anymore.

In timer mode, you can see what time the timer was originally set for on another line below the countdown. No connection to additional sensors. What you see is what you get. No expanding its capabilities to suit your training needs. It’s like buying a basic car model and realizing you can’t add any cool features later on. There are so many little touches that make it clear the designers at Timex really take pride in their work. Here are my favorites: Many of the buttons that perform an irreversible or potentially unwanted function (such as resetting the chrono or clearing workout data) require being held down for several seconds so you don't trigger them accidentally. Personally, I am very thankful to Timex, since I’ve owned at least one Ironman for the past 30 years. Having been a runner through the 1990’s I can say on good authority that the Ironman line always delivers on its promise to be accurate, tough, legible, and easy to wear. Even though I’m no longer a runner, the Ironman still delivers every day.If the chronograph function wasn’t capable enough, you also get a 24-hour capacity countdown timer as well, mated to an audible alarm. Another “maximum utilization” by Timex. Speaking of the alarm, you can also program the alarm for daily, weekday and/or weekend frequency. The alarm is clear, but not too loud, shrill or cheap sounding. I think 7-segment numbers look ugly, and I prefer the ability to see the 'distance' between times visually that you get with an analog face.
