About this deal

There's very little information about taking herbal remedies and supplements with fexofendadine. There might be a problem taking some herbal remedies and supplements with it, especially ones that cause sleepiness or a dry mouth, or make it difficult to pee. If you are allergic to fexofenadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Fexofenadine hydrochloride is a non-sedating H1 antihistamine. Fexofenadine is a pharmacologically active metabolite of terfenadine. Hypersensitivity reactions with manifestations such as angioedema, chest tightness, dyspnoea, flushing and systemic anaphylaxis Do not take this medicine if: you are allergic to fexofenadine or any of the ingredients listed in this medicine.

TREATHAY should not be taken during pregnancy and whilst breast-feeding unless advised by a doctor.

There are no data on the content of human milk after administering fexofenadine hydrochloride. However, when terfenadine was administered to nursing mothers fexofenadine was found to cross into human breast milk. Therefore TREATHAY 120 mg tablets is not recommended for mothers breast-feeding their babies. Breast-feeding women should only use TREATHAY 120 mg tablets if advised to do so by a doctor. Fexofenadine hydrochloride was found to be non-mutagenic in various in vitro and in vivo mutagenicity tests. The usual dose for treating hives is 180mg once a day for adults and children aged 12 years and over. If your doctor or health visitor says your baby is healthy, you can take fexofenadine while breastfeeding.

Limited animal studies do not indicate direct or indirect harmful effects with respect to effects on pregnancy, embryonal/foetal development, parturition or postnatal development (see section 5.3) . TREATHAY 120 mg tablets should not be used during pregnancy unless on the advice of a doctor.

A clinical drug-drug interaction study showed that co-administration of apalutamide (a weak inducer of P-gp) and a single oral dose of 30 mg fexofenadine resulted in a 30 % decrease in AUC of fexofenadine. Fexofenadine hydrochloride is rapidly absorbed into the body following oral administration, with T max occurring at approximately 1-3 hours post dose. The mean C max value was approximately 427 ng/ml following the administration of a 120 mg dose once daily. Fexofenadine is not usually recommended if you're pregnant as there is not a lot of information about its use in pregnancy. You'll usually take 120mg or 180mg fexofenadine once a day. 3. Who can and cannot take fexofenadine
