About this deal

The Whale Easy Water Connector means there is no need to carry heavy water containers. It allows a reliable continuous supply of water and delivers water without using battery power. The Whale mains water connection is suitable for use with caravans and motorhomes with either microswitch or pressure switch systems. It regulates mains water pressure to nominal 1.5 bar (max. 1.8 bar) and is ideal for use in UK and European Parks with mains water hook-up facilities. In high value products, like aircraft and ship's storage tanks, pressure regulators are never used as we have as a single valve, but supplemented with a pressure relief to the safety valve. Otherwise the plane's wing of ship's hull could be over stressed by an unfortunate particle of debris. To me my caravan is of high enough value, it's well being is never going to be reliant on a standalone pressure reducing valve.

I have a Whale mains water connection kit, that I connect on the "direct to tap" connection. The water from the taps and shower is pretty pitiful, regardless of mains pressure. I'm assuming with this set-up, there is no pump involved anywhere but the mains pressure does not seem to get through the system (must be reduced somewhere). The on-board pump won't turn on from the control panel and just beeps, so I'm guessing it's being bypassed somehow. We are currently on a long week end and the connection at is now leaking again when the pump is working. I would echo John19's comment " Others would have to make their own judgement on the condition of their caravan pipework". Do what I'm already doing via the mains but plug into the "via tank" connection. I guess this would fill the tank, and the on-board pump would improve the pressure to the taps. Then I'd need to drain the tank down after each trip. I have read posts about the hose where it fits onto the spigot becomes loose or adrift, but surely this shouldn't happen on two new assemblies or is a problem with the caravan system?Every now & then, I have leaking 'O' rings on my water system at work. I put a blob of Petroleum jelly around the 'O' rings and reconnect and all is fine for a few months. I've been doing this on the same 'O' rings for over 20 years. The equipment is subject to high usage every working day, probably used more in a day, than most caravan water pumps get plugged in and out in their lifetime. Ensure Watermaster Mains is kept in a clean dry storage area away from direct sunlight when not in use

The use of Flow regulation of pressure, as the word "flow" so clearly implies, only applies to a dynamic situation, not the steady state of zero and effectively zero flow. Please Note: To use the Watermaster Mains Water Hook Up with an onboard Smartflopump, the inlet strainer (if included with the pump) must be removed. I have never connected to the "via tank" connection, mainly because I don't really understand how it works, and gives me another thing to drain when we leave.

Easy water connection from tap to caravan or motorhome for continuous water supply

All very well - but what you might have forgotten is that the caravan is put together by unskilled labour, so there is a very good chance that at least one push fit joint isn't made correctly and you will end up with a soggy caravan. Ideally you should have started your own thread (question) as the answers to your problem will be different to the original and then things can get confusing. .. My van is a 2013 Sterling Elite Emerald with the on-board water tank. On the outside of the van there are two connections, straight to taps or via tank.
