About this deal

After it being brought to my attention by u/Glad-Neighborhood123, this is fact DOES NOT use the same panel as the LG 27GL83A-B

Besides the standard picture settings (brightness, contrast, etc.), you also get access to advanced adjustment tools, such as four gamma modes, sharpness, 6-axis hue/saturation, and color temperature fine-tuning (in increments of 500K). TL;DR: The variable refresh rate feature works as advertised on NVIDIA cards, and the monitors HDR feature also works as well, both can be used in tandem if that matters to you. Just don't expect the HDR experience to be the best.On paper, the SAMSUNG Odyssey G5 is pretty similar to other 27-inch monitors on this list. You get a VA panel and a smooth refresh rate of 144Hz. The device also supports Variable Refresh Rate or VRR, which is crucial for console gaming. Add to that, as noted by RTings, the monitor offers a responsive gaming experience thanks to its low input lag.

The LG UltraGear 27GN800 is based on an IPS panel by BOE (MV270QHM-NF1), unlike LG’s other monitors with similar names (27GN850, 27GL850, 27GL83A, and 27GN880), which are based on LG’sM270WQA-SSA1 panel.Others might even prefer the extra color saturation, in which case it’s an awesome display, especially when it comes to fast-paced games! Specifications Screen Size We tested the 27 inch LG 27GN880-B, and it's the only size available. There are many monitors in LG's UltraGear lineup with various configurations, some of which you can see in the table below. There's an LG 27GN88A-B that's very similar; however, we didn't test it. Model DisplayPort 1.4 allows for 2560×1440 144Hz with 10-bit color depth, while HDMI 2.0 is limited to 1440p 144Hz 8-bit. VRR is supported over both DP and HDMI with a 48-144Hz range. Price & Similar Monitors LG has been at the forefront of the budget gaming monitor revolution with its UltraGear lineup, and the LG UltraGear 27GN800-B is shaping up to be an excellent deal too. If you’re looking for a great 1440p 144Hz gaming monitor for your console gaming needs, then the 27GN800-B should be right up your alley. You can enable 1ms MBR only when FreeSync/G-SYNC is disabled, and your refresh rate is set to either 120Hz or 144Hz.
