About this deal

Added insulation in the feet area –We all know how cold little feet can get – the “Little Mo” baby sleeping bag has this covered with added down insulation! Sleep is definitely the biggest concern when it comes to camping with your baby – after all, it probably took months of sleep deprivation to get them to where they are now right?? For some lovely holiday-themed colouring for KS1 pupils, give them this Busy Camping Colouring Challenge. Young children will enjoy spotting the different camping activities and equipment in the busy scene, as they practise their fine motor skills by colouring the scene. This wonderful and colourful Camping Bunting resource includes five different camping-themed designs. Three of the designs feature children enjoying roasted marshmallows, one design is of a campfire and the other is of a tent. You can mix and match these beautifully-illustrated designs, or you can selectively print out your favourite ones. Whatever you decide, this Camping Bunting is sure to brighten up your classroom and help you create a positive learning environment, where your children are stimulated and motivated to learn and work. Dress warm above your torso– If nursing, sleep with your torso out of the sheets so that you don’t, in your half-asleep stupor, pull your baby down to nurse consequently putting him under the blankets.

Minimal Base that goes on the ground (either by itself or paired with a nicer self inflating sleep pad)- Therm a Rest’s classic sleeping pad is about as basic as it gets, but it does get the job done! If you’re just getting into camping and don’t want to spend a bunch, this is for you! You can sleep on JUST this pad, but it will likely be more comfortable and warmer if you get some other kind of sleeping pad! Well, yes and no. In a pinch, a snow suit will work kinda like a baby sleeping bag (I actually used one for the first camp trip of the season this year because I totally forgot to buy my twins the right size bags!) However, they don’t often have good venting and aren’t rated for safety while sleeping. This might be the easiest choice if you don’t feel comfortable co-sleeping, but also don’t want to spend any extra money on sleep set up for your baby! If you like this beautifully illustrated Camping Icons Bunting, then we have a whole range of other resources to help you plan your lessons about Summer and Camping.Depending on the temperature lows at night, you may not even need an “official” baby sleeping bag like I mentioned above! When babies are SUPER little, this style of swaddle can really help retain warmth. If your baby isn't used to being swaddled then this might not be the choice for you, however, these were perfect for my twins when we were camping (so that I wasn't as paranoid about them freezing at nigh with their little hands and arms exposed!) Extremely warm –The down version of the little mo sleeping bag is rated for use in as low as 20 degree F temps! I co sleep in our camper, and as a breastfeeding mom, it was the easiest set up (we also co slept at home) but of course only do this if you feel comfortable! RV Specific Teach children about campfire safety with this fantastic Campfire Safety Poster. The poster contains four campfire safety tips and has a beautifully clear picture to accompany each one so that if children are non-readers they will still be able to understand the rules. Display it in your camping role-play area, or use it to teach children about forest school safety or camping safety for the summer holidays. Use these Camping Early Writing Activities to inspire young children to independently write about camping.

Hat and mittens– A simple cap and mittens will do a lot to keep your baby warm while camping, especially for babies with little hair! If it’s 60’s F or above at night, you could get away with a onesie, warm footie PJ on top, then a blanket swaddle with a hat and gloves. I would consider the threshold being the 50s however! Camping brings children closer to nature which will help them relax and will boost their immune system This bunting could also supplement your teaching on camping, as it would provide your young learners with visual aids. Visual aids and displays support children’s learning by enhancing their understanding of a topic and they can boost pupils’ excitement on a subject.

I absolutely love that this camping sleeping bag for babies was designed by a family who actually camps! They started off making these bags in their garage and have since moved on to bigger things (like being in REI!) but it really shows you that alot of thought went into this design! A good sleeping bag when camping with your baby is only a piece of the puzzle, but it can help with peace of mind knowing that your baby is staying warm at night and safe! The Little Mo from Morrison Outdoors Why not complete your camping-themed display, starting with our Camping Icons Bunting and our other camping-themed display resources: Camping Acrostic Poem which will help your children practise their writing skills and will encourage them to think of different descriptive words.
