About this deal

When finishing maple, we recommend using either a tung oil or a linseed oil. Both of these oils will bring out the curly, or tiger grain of the wood, finishing maple to the highest of standards. If finished using oil only, Surfaces may be cleaned using a damp cloth and spills should be wiped up immediately. For stubborn stains a mild detergent can be used. Surfaces need to be re-oiled once a year or more, depending upon We have some specific blog posts all about using Danish Oil on oak and using Danish Oil on pine, to help you get the best results when oiling those wood types. Teak Oil If required, wood can be stained prior to oiling with Liberon Palette Wood Dye, or an alternative wood stain. We would recommend using either danish oil or teak oil for ash. These oil finishes will help keep the natural blonde colour of ash. However, when exposed to excessive UV light, the wood can yellow slightly causing darker tones in the grain. To avoid this, some users will bleach the wood prior to oiling.

Always do a test area before starting any project, to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer's instructions on the tin at all times. Shake well before use. Liberon Finishing Oil is a blend of high quality oils for use on all interior wood, turned woodwork and wooden toys. It is suitable for use on work tops, kitchen tables and bathroom furniture and can also be applied to cork, stone and terracotta. Reclaimed wood, bare wood, table tops, floors, most any surface, painted finish or Milk Painted pieces. Aside from the weightless texture, we loved that we were able to work it through our hair with ease. It made combing strands effortless, and it didn’t leave a residue on our hands or in our hair. The end result was shiny, soft hair with a salon-like finish. This is a great option for all hair types. Plus, we appreciate that the bottle is compact, making it easy to travel with or conveniently store in your bathroom. Once your finish is complete, leave it to cure for as long as you can. If you can leave it for a couple of months before you use it, it will be more durable. I see a lot of eager shooters take their newly oiled gun out on a rainy pheasant shoot the day after it is finished and express disappointment when it goes hazy. Please keep in mind that all oil-based products typically yellow in time. Using this over top of white paints will cause a slight yellowing effect. We recommend our Tough Coat for going over lighter colours to avoid yellowing. Application Tool Below we have oiledBeech, Oak and Walnut with each of our Wood Oils so you can see what the wood will look like after an application of your chosen wood oil finish. Danish Oil Boiled linseed oil, on the other hand, has had hot air passed through it tosignificantly acceleratethe drying time. The oil seeps into the pores of the wood and provides a traditional hardwearing wood finish. It is suitable for use on all types of wood (except exterior oak). As opposed to a lot of VOC wood varnishes, wood oils are natural products that are easy to apply and maintain overtime so generally contain a lower VOC content. If you want to keep the characteristics of your wood, as well as enhancing its protective qualities, wood oils could be the best choice of finish instead of wax or varnish. Here you can find everything you need to know about wood oils, from the different types available to the best suited wood oil for your wood. What is wood oil?

SFO is extremely durable; you can use it on your floors! It is mostly an oil product that soaks into wood, but it does have a bit of resin that sits on top and adds a protective barrier. Osmo Natural Oil Woodstainis an ideal choice for exterior furniture as it is suitable for both vertical and horizontal surfaces. It is available in a clear matt finish or various coloured satin finishes. The clear finish does not protect against UV rays and allows for the surface to naturally "grey" and "age" over time (popular in rustic design schemes), whilst the coloured finishes contain varying degrees of UV protection. As a general rule of thumb, the darker the colour, the higher the UV protection. When finishing teak, we recommend using specialised teak oil. Teak oil is not made out of teak. The oil is generally a mixture of linseed oil, varnish, mineral spirits and sometimes tung oil.

To help you take the guesswork out of finding the best hair oil for you, we scoured the internet to find the most popular and highly rated options on the market before putting dozens to the test in our lab and then at home in the real world. We evaluated each one based on application, absorption, feel, shine, and ingredients, and ahead, we're sharing which ones impressed us the most. Mineral oil is a good choice for wooden cutting surfaces such as chopping boards since it is a nontoxic oil. To give the wood a more water-resistant finish, we recommend using beeswax as a seal. If you would like an oil finish on a piece of mahogany, we recommend using tung oil, linseed oil or teak oil. These oil options are great for interior use, and will not leave a glassy sheen on the mahogany. Using hair oil can be a great way to add shine and light reflection to dull hair. If that’s your main goal, then this is one a great option for you. The lightweight formula utilizes the power of hemisqualane—squalane derived from sugarcane—instead of silicone (which can create residue on the hair over time) to strengthen your strands. Hemisqualane works to strengthen the hair over time, while other ingredients in the formula, like meadowfoam esters and hibiscus extract, provide gloss, moisture, and antioxidant protection. As always, make sure you’re starting with a clean surface. For wood applications, we do recommend you at least scuff sand, if not sand down to raw wood. A finish with 220 grit is a great way to prepare raw wood for SFO. For an even application, ensure that the surface is sanded evenly with the same grit.Liberon Finishing Oil comes in two sizes 250ml & 1 Litre.
