About this deal

The light was subjected to warm water submersion, followed by cold water submersion and left under room temperature running water tap whilst running on HIGH. Momentary Turbo (4400 lumens / 30min) – – there is a temperature-based output step down & 21700 15A battery is required to access this mode. For this light, the spill, corona and hotspot is somewhat predictable due to the 4 fairly shallow overlapping Smooth Reflectors, similar in design as the Nitecore i4000R model. With the LEDs used, the beam is “throwy” for recognizing items in the near to mid-range distance, with the sheer output it produces on TURBO.

LVP (Low Voltage Protection) is designed to protect the battery from being over-discharged, which can lead to reduced battery life or even permanent damage. The E4K has thermal protection feature. The thermal protection mechanisms are designed to monitor and regulate the temperature of the flashlight during operation. This feature helps prevent overheating, which can be detrimental to the flashlight's performance, battery, and overall safety. Press – Direct access to STROBE; HOLD to activate SOS & HOLD again to activate BEACON (cycles STROBE-SOS-BEACON ⇒ STROBE-SOS-BEACON), 1 Press again to switch OFF light. With the NL2150HPR battery (5,000mAh) included, the E4K is recommended to be powered by 1 x 21700 battery (discharge current over 15A) while compatible with 2 x CR123 / RCR123 batteries. It provides 700 hours ultra long runtime for a consistent usage of 30 days on ULTRALOW. The integrated ATR technology regulates the output of the E4K according to the working condition and ambient environment to maintain the optimal performance. HOLD – Mode change (light cycles through ULTRA-LOW, LOW, MID, HIGH & TURBO → ULTRA-LOW, LOW, MID, HIGH & TURBO). Batteries Required: 1 x 21700 15 A lithium-ion (included) or 2 x CR123A lithium metal / 2 x 16340 lithium-ion (not included)The performance of the Nitecore E4K flashlight is measured according to the ANSI / NEMA FL1 Standard 30 seconds after switching the light on. The ANSI/NEMA FL1 2009 Standard is a set of flashlight performance guidelines. Dimension: 117.56mm (length) x 28.6mm (head diameter) x 25.8mm (body diameter) x 28.1mm (tail diameter) After replacing the battery, the Battery Capacity Indicator function will be activated (Switch LED will flash BLUE in the following sequence).

That said, it would be nice if Nitecore is able to speed up the ramping of modes changing duration, for future models with similar UI. Since the battery has a USB-C charging input port, the flashlight can still be operated if a spare battery is available. Although a 21700 lithium-ion battery is recommended, the E4K can also two 16340 (RCR123A) lithium-ion rechargeable batteries or two CR123A lithium metal non rechargeable batteries using the included battery adaptor that makes the batteries compatible, which provides great versatility. The turbo output cannot be accessed when using 16340/CR123A batteries. Integrated ATR technology adjusts the output of E4K based on working conditions and the surrounding environment to maintain performance High doesn’t have this massive stepdown, though, and holds over 1200 lumens for just under 2 hours! The torch is powered with the included Nitecore NL2150HPR high discharge 15 A, 21700 5000 mAh USB-C lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which is charged outside of the torch via the USB Type C charging port on the battery itself using the included Type C charging cable for fast charging. Other 21700 lithium-ion batteries can be used, however they need to have a high discharge current of at least 15 A.

The new design of the popular headlamp provides dual primary lights; a spotlight and floodlight. The dual primary lights can be used together or independently, achieving the ideal combination of long distance throw and flood beam. In addition, the NU25 hasa red light for map viewing, emergency use, stargazing, wildlife observation and night photography. The central body of the Nitecore E4K has a non-slip diamond-shaped knurling while in the lower part we find fins of cooling that facilitate the disposal of the heat produced during the use of the E4K at the highest light levels. This could have been avoided if a “throwier” LED like the XP-L HI was used instead and would have made full use of the smooth reflector, but at a slightly lower maximum output. Waterproofness A compact, palm-sized torch, the E4K offers fantastic performance, making high power and excellent specifications possible for everyday carry as well as specific applications, such as trekking and camping. The provided lanyard is able to support the full weight of the light and should hold up to the test of time. Mode spacing appears to be progressively brighter to the eye and the modes are well spaced enough to be able to know which mode one is currently in. With that in mind, TLR tend to view mode spacing as battery life indicators (amount of runtime left) rather than the specific output (lumens).
