About this deal

Please note: it’s important to remember to fill the water reservoir before using a steam option, though the oven will stop and beep to alert you to top up the water level – it can be refilled without having to restart the timer. The product itself is pretty good. It's when there is a fault or an issue with it that you really realise what you've bought: non existent customer service from Panasonic. Combination cooking – clever combinations are possible with this Panasonic oven – choose to cook super-speedy gratins, lasagne and shepherd’s pies using the grill and microwave together. Oven – just like a traditional oven, this option warms the oven cavity from the top and bottom simultaneously, and requires pre-heating before you roast or bake your ingredients. You can use the Panacrunch tray as a shelf or shallow oven tray – it’s ideal for roasting meats as the ridges in the tray allow excess fat to drain away from the joint, and you can add an extra shelf if you wish to cook on two levels at once. Temperature options range from 150-220°C in ten-degree increments – but there is a super-low setting for proving yeasted doughs – and a safety cut-off will switch the oven off if you haven’t placed anything inside within 30 minutes of switching it on. The Panasonic NN-DS59NB is a microwave oven that offers a range of cooking options to suit most needs. It features a convection function for even cooking, which combines the speed of a microwave with the browning and crisping ability of a traditional oven. With its 27-liter capacity, it can accommodate larger dishes and meals, making it ideal for families or those who like to entertain guests.

It’s definitely a good idea to keep the Panasonic’s instructions handy. In return, you’re rewarded with recipes and also detailed advice on cooking times. For example, it offered precisely how long to defrost a pitta bread for (90 seconds). The results were good, but initially warm and soggy; the pitta was fine once it had rested for a few minutes – but not quite the perfect precision of the Panasonic NN-DF386. The oven space is generous here, allowing several items to be cooked at the same time on different levels, further emphasised by the auto programmes’ ability to cook as much as 2kg of meat. The microwave itself is pretty good, but that's irrelevant if the units keep developing faults and the manufacturer just doesn't care about this, or you, they consumer. I wont buy a Panasonic product again simply because of this.

The NN-CS89LBBPQ impressed with its auto programmes and grill setting, while some tasks using its regular microwave and convection functions delivered somewhat uneven results, requiring a longer cooking time. After microwaving a raw, fridge-cold 350g baking potato on full power for 3mins on each side and letting it stand for a further minute, it measured 99°C. However, it still had a very noticeable crunch when cut, indicating a hard, uncooked middle. After another 3mins50secs I deemed it edible enough, especially as I was starting to worry about the outer layer drying out too much.

The microwave features a 1000W microwave cooking power output, with Panasonic's inverter technology offering graduated levels of power - perfect for ensuring food is cooked evenly throughout. The microwave also features a 1200W grill cooking function - helping to ensure that your foods can be browned on top, whilst also cooked thoroughly. Panacrunch button – The dedicated Panacrunch option combines the traditional grill with microwaves to warm the ridged Panacrunch tray so it’ll brown and crisp pizzas, frozen foods and breaded items while they cook. If accessing the Panacrunch feature via the dedicated button, remember to tell it the weight of your food, so the oven can select the best cooking time for your dish. The microwave has seven, the grill three and the steam setting has two different power levels, while the oven temperature ranges from 30°C to 230°C. In addition to the 36 smart cooking (counting three for defrosting) and 12 combination programmes, the NN-CS89LBBPQ has four cleaning settings, including deodorisation and cavity cleaning to remove grease build-up inside the oven. PerformanceGrill 1 + MW300WGrill 1 + MW440W2. Grill 2 + MW300WGrill 2 + MW440W3. Steam 1 + MW300W4. Steam 1 + MW440W5. Steam 1 + Grill 16. Steam+Oven(150?-220?)(w/ preheat)*need to clarify how to name each combination mediums caused by the Mechanical or Electrical Failure of the Enrolled Product. 6.3 Excluded costs, To test the steam capabilities, I used the Auto Cook steam programme to cook 200g of rice with 300ml of water. This took 28mins and the rice came out still a little wet and chewy. After microwaving it for a further minute at full power, it was perfect. Interestingly, rice is the only automatic programme here with a lower capacity – 200g was the maximum amount of rice allowed. Delay start – allows you to plan a piping hot meal after a busy day at work. Just set the start time for up to 9 hours ahead, and choose the Micro Power level that’s right for your recipe.

Of course, what’s most interesting about the Panasonic is that its oven also offers steam cooking. There’s a water tank on the right, below the door, and to the left is a drip tray. If steam accumulates inside or around the outside of the oven door, wipe with a soft cloth. This may occur when the microwave oven is operated under high humidity conditions, and in no way indicates a malfunction of the unit or microwave leakage" The NN-DS596 is very well-featured, high-end combi microwave that gives good integrated models a run for their money. And it’s a decent option if you want to cook with steam. The Pana-crunch tray works well, too.The cauliflower came out cooked just about right. Not quite al dente, but not soft either. The process was no faster than steaming in a pan, but it was convenient and low maintenance. The glass tray is suitable for all functions, while the plastic trivet is meant for steaming tasks. Not suitable for straightforward microwave cooking, the wire shelf and enamel tray come in handy for grilling, convection and steaming tasks. If you primarily use the microwave feature, you’ll need to find somewhere to store those extra trays. There are plenty of smart programs for popular foods, with a cheat sheet inside the door providing you with a list from which you can choose. Or you can cook or defrost by time or weight, with an inverter microwave providing precise power control for even results. Also included: – square Panacrunch browning pan and a helpful instruction manual filled with timing guidelines for cooking and reheating every kind of food, as well as recipes and tips for adapting recipes from other cookbooks.
