Bradford must respond creatively to their status as the biggest loser in the IRP (Integrated Rail Plan), by developing a more cost effective way forward. The IRP describes the Government’s proposals as the “Core Network” and ALMOST implied that the missing parts of HS2 Phase 2b and TfN’s fast Bradford to Manchester service cannot be afforded until 2045 to 2060 unless cheaper or better proposals emerge. A future review in 3 years seems likely. This, of course, would be contingent on a high-speed line being built between Leeds and Manchester, which NPR was supposed to be but is no longer. Build a new through stationBoth experiences are equally as mindful. This is perhaps the only true negative of this game. There is absolutely no player interaction whatsoever. Increase capacity between Bradford and Leeds The development of railway networks in Russia – most notably the Trans-Siberian Railway – Prussia, France, Italy and the British Empire, among others, were strongly influenced by political and military demands as well as economic development. Two lines are currently under construction totaling around 170 miles, Shanghai-Hangzhou in Zhejiang province and a 110-kilometer underground route linking Guangzhou and Shenzhen, the two biggest cities in the densely populated Pearl River Delta region. It is expected that the latter will eventually extend to Kowloon in the former British territory of Hong Kong. These facts had made it seem an obvious win for the government’s levelling up agenda, but the IRP ultimately stated that there was “no demonstrable business case” for a new station at Bradford.
Mr Osborne said there was a "big internal row" in the party about whether the Manchester route should be junked. Closure of part of the Water Balk Path, which carries walkers between Windygates and Methilhill, is needed to enable Network Rail to carry out work associated with the new railway. Work will include the enhancement of active travel routes in the area and while the closure is in place underfoot conditions will be difficult with be extensive movement of materials, plant and machinery ongoing.
