About this deal

Chivas Regal and Johnnie Walker both make blended Scotch whisky. Neither of these brands make single malts. Instead they source malt and grain whiskies from various distilleries around Scotland which they use to make their various ages of blended Scotch.

A prolific amateur photographer who amassed thousands of unseen images of steam locomotives taken across three decades is to receive his first major exhibition this week.

Where To Buy

From its superior blend of whisky to the unique character it exudes, Chivas Regal 12 year old is one of Scotland’s most esteemed blends – a must-have for your next dram or special celebration. In contrast, Johnnie Walker’s plan to entice global drinkers takes a mass market approach. Julie Bramham, global brand director for Johnnie Walker, tells The Drum it aims to be the ”most talked about whisky in the world” – though building on last year’s worldwide sales increase of 12% will also satisfy. The digital luxury market may hold another ingredient for Pernod. Other luxury malt brands, such as Glenlivet and Glenfiddich, have sold whisky NFTs with some success lately; despite its faults, the concept is a clear analog to collecting Scotch.

This time around, though, there are a couple of spanners in the works. Firstly, today’s young consumers drink considerably less alcohol than their forebears – and at 40% ABV, Chivas and Johnnie are quite alcoholic. Previously known as ‘Platinum Label’ is blends whiskies from the Cardhu, Glen Elgin, Auchroisk, and Blair Athol distilleries. This decadent bottle is a real gem within their range, expressing the classic Johnnie Walker smokiness that weaves its way through their entire collection. Pouring a glass, I’m immediately hit with an earthy, herbal aroma that sort of reminds me of a florists. Trust me though, it’s actually attractively floral and slightly fruity towards the end each of each sniff. It’s inviting and pleasant. With those mysteries in mind, TVLine is looking ahead at Season 4 and crafting a wish list for the future episodes (whenever they might premiere, following the current WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes). We definitely have some thoughts on how Cordell and Geri’s relationship should progress following the kiss they shared at the end of Season 3, and we’re wondering if another coupling might be on the horizon, as well. When it debuted in 1999, she says, ”’Keep Walking’ stood for positivity, progress and resilience. At this moment, after everything we’ve all been through, those principles feel more important than ever. It’s a privilege for me personally to start a new chapter of this campaign in a way that is relevant for the unique times we find ourselves in today – working through the challenges of a global pandemic.”Nosing the Chivas 12, there’s subtle hints of heather, honey, and ripe fruit coming through. I also get a mild scent of spice. On the first sip, there’s an immediate peppery heat. Initially, this feels a little harsh, but it does eventually subside to an underlying honey sweetness. Adding a little water certainly helps as I begin to taste a mild herbal aroma. On reflection, I’d definitely recommend adding water from the start to relieve some of the harsh spiciness.

Although they’re well-cushioned, we found that the Tirra Sandals feel about as responsive as a traditional sneaker, so they may not have enough spring for some. But we appreciate that the rigid soles offer better stability and durability. Plus, they’re easy to clean: We hosed them off and let them air dry after a particularly muddy walk, and the shape and straps still looked brand new. Both these brands are top players in the blended Scotch category. Whilst Chivas aren’t quite as mainstream, their Speyside orientated blends were a delight to sample. stunts / utility stunts / stunt double: Garrison / stunt driver / stunt performer / stunt double: Jeremy Lawson / stunt double: Matthew Barr / stunt double: Phil / stunt double: jaxon / stunt double: letcher (13 episodes, 2021-2022) Further into my glass, I taste nutmeg, cinnamon and star anise which I’m told makes up allspice – it’s a pleasing warmth in your mouth. There’s also tastes of toasted walnuts and caramel which eventually come through. The City is suffering as there are no workers there, so until they really push to get more people there it will continue to look like a ghost town.”
