About this deal

Kim, Matt (March 21, 2021). "New Resident Evil Film Title Officially Revealed". IGN . Retrieved August 1, 2022. Resident Evil #1: The Umbrella Conspiracy is a novel based on both the first incarnations of the game and the movie. The story follows the two main characters that are members of the STARS elite force aka Special Tactics and Rescue Service: Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, as they along with their unit go to investigate a mountain community called Raccoon City. There are odd things happening in the area, and there appear to be corporate shenanigans being played by the Umbrella Corporation that could constitute a viral outbreak. Booker, M. Keith (2010). Encyclopedia of Comic Books and Graphic Novels [2 volumes]: [Two Volumes]. ABC-CLIO. p.662. ISBN 9780313357473. Barry Burton - Information similar to Chris and Jill. Survivor of the Mansion incident. In Europe to take down Umbrella HQ there. Only mentioned. Before the third installment had been released, Constantin prepared to release a fourth entry. [18] The film was set in Japan and filmed in 3D with the Fusion Camera System developed by James Cameron and Vince Pace for the 2009 film Avatar. [19] It was written and directed by Paul W. S. Anderson and released on September 10, 2010.

Philip was pleased with how his Resident Evil book turned out, and how much it connected with readers and reviewers. People noticed, for example, the care that he put into showcasing the way fixed-cam early PlayStation games allowed for attention to film-like direction and composition, and the achievement of finding and interviewing the English-language voice and live-action casts. It’s an extremely entertaining look at all aspects of horror, as well as an unexpectedly touching story of growing up in a small town with only movies and games to occupy one’s time.” 4.5/5 - Geek to Geek Media This is a good book for what it is: an attempt to novelize a video game that, though it has a large amount of action content, is really more of a puzzle game. And Perry does a good job writing around the puzzles. Or as good a job as anyone can do, at least. After all, without leaving at least some of the puzzles in, this book would have been a very short trip through a mansion of zombies and into a science lab. Not much to keep interest without a puzzle aspect. Sure, it works much better in the game, but Perry also comes up with some creative ways around some of the more ridiculous puzzles and simply ignores others. Chalk, Andy (September 16, 2019). But what the team finds is straight out of a horror movie. Can the team, consisting of Jill Valentine, Chris Redfield, Barry Burton and Albert Wesker, survive the horrors??

Accuracy and detail

The novel for the first film, titled Resident Evil: Genesis, was published over two years after that film's release, while the Extinction novel was released in late July 2007, two months before the film's release. There was also a Japanese novelization of the first film, unrelated to DeCandido's version, written by Osamu Makino. Makino also wrote two novels based on the game Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles. In addition, the ending implies that Alpha Team landed in close proximity to the Spencer Mansion, when in the game, they were actually a ways off from the mansion. Dunkley, Cathy (May 9, 2001). "Col TriStar giving 'Evil' the eye". Variety . Retrieved February 15, 2021.

Leon S. Kennedy, Claire Redfield, and the survivors of the Caliban Cove incident are en route to Europe to rendezvous with the other surviving S.T.A.R.S. members for further operations against the evil Umbrella Corporation. While in the air, their plane is redirected by the mysterious Trent, an enigmatic figure who has been guiding and manipulating events throughout the entire series of novels. Trent informs the group of an Umbrella facility in Utah, used to test and train the company's experimental biological weapons. The facility's overseer, a man named Reston, is one of three people in the world in possession of a codebook which would allow access to all of Umbrella's most secret documents. Trent wants the group to infiltrate the facility, steal the codebook, and take down Umbrella once and for all. Phillips, Tom (June 15, 2016).
