About this deal

Like the Pit Veterans, he can use the ability Readied Stance, which improves his Toughness, so he has a better chance of surviving another round. This makes them quite an advanced warband to play, as your strongest abilities often require you to set up a kill that can trigger them. Some amongst the Spire Tyrants view the battlefield as an arena. These Frenzied Ragers stand alone, recognizing that although they may form alliances in the arena, and then join greater alliances outside it, they are not born to such allegiances. [2] Pit Veterans As you play more you’ll see the benefit of this, particularly in using it to see what your opponent does and then respond to it. You could even activate a disposable jobber, wait, then activate him on your next activation to push the button and use up a second activation, if you’ve got a non-vital model doing an objective related action or something. Suddenly you’ve pushed your opponent into two activations you can respond to, which could include things like moving their models to where they’re exposed against yours.

He makes up for this with his unique ability, the Double Gladiator’s Net, which lets him tie an enemy fighter to the ground for one battle round on a dice roll of 3+. Here you can see how I painted what I think is the coolest model in the warband: The Bestigor Destroyer. The Splintered Fang are a demanding and varied warband that rewards experimentation and list building. The initial cost of purchasing the extra models is strongly balanced by the tactical flexibility it provides. He has the same statistics profile as the Pit Fighter with Punch Dagger, but with 1 less damage on critical hit. Hammer appears in Round 2 onwards 10 out of 18 times and Dagger 8 out of 18 times. These are slightly more difficult for the Spire Tyrants, as having warriors deployed far away from the action can really hamper their game, so having range options and support fighters for them in Hammer and Dagger is probably the best option. WarCry Victory Cards. Spire Tyrants Mission Tactics If you want more Pit Veterans with Dual Weapons, it’s not that difficult to replace their shields with weapon arms from some of the other warbands, but if you want to build a more specialized warband, I would recommend buying two boxes so you can focus more on Spear-wielding pit fighters to take advantage of enemies trapped by the net of the other Pit Fighter, or to field more Headclaimers.

This sets them apart from the rest of the Warcry Chaos warbands, since they don’t worship a shamanistic symbol of Chaos. The Spire Tyrants know what they’re dealing with, and calls themselves the Chosen of Archaon himself. Chaos Familiar - Chaos Spawn - Curs'd Ettin - Daemonic Mount - Gorebeast - Karkadrak - Manticore - Mutalith Vortex Beast - Raptoryx - Slaughterbrute The Bigger They Are…–Splintered Fang warriors excel at combatting warbands who make use of durable units. Their cheapest ability lets them count as always having a higher strength than the enemy’s toughness. Do you want to Pillage and Burn the land without remorse? Do you enjoy Chaos but having to choose a single god make you squeamish? Do you want to run one of the biggest and best god models in the game? Then come on down to Slaves to Darkness, the faction where mortals of every chaos god can get together and share their common love of burning down the holdings of Sigmar, Nagash and just about anyone that isn’t them. Sometimes their own stuff too if they’re getting antsy. Even the blood and thunder of the arena ceases to hold any allure for the Spire Tyrants. Instead, they seek greater tests, venturing out into the lethal wilds of the Eightpoints. There they look for worthy foes and challenges, hoping to earn infamy enough to gain the favour of the Everchosen. These champions retain the names and epithets they earned in the arena. They also maintain the arrogance and showmanship that defines the greatest gladiators, favouring bloody eviscerations and decapitations over a simpler, more efficient kill. The sight of such a gruesome death can steal the nerve from even a veteran fighter. This is a very useful ability, since some of your other abilities like the Pit Veteran’s Shield Ram work best if you get into combat first rather than the enemy closing in on you, and since the Pit Fighter is so cheap, there’s no reason not to take him as part of your warband, even if it is only for the access to his ability. I’m going to list a bunch of important factors, which you can’t get all of in your warband. That is fine because the game is designed that way, but you need to know what they are and have an answer for the things you don’t have. Splintered Fang cultists start their journey being thrown into a pit of snakes from which few emerge. Those that do however emerge with an enhanced resistance to toxins and murderous drive to bring honor to the Great Serpent. Pros

You can choose up to three models with the hero runemark, starting with the leader for your warband who must be from the faction you’ve chosen. Of the two extra heroes you can take, one of these can be an ally from the same Grand Alliance. According to the rules in White Dwarf 482 in ‘The Bladeborn Return’ if you select a Bladeborn Hero as an ally then you can select the rest of the fighters in that band (determined by the runemark that Underworld warband has) as if they were available to your faction, which means you can just drop whole Underworlds bands into your Warcry factions as long as they’re from the same Grand Alliance. This is very useful for compensating for your factions weak spots or if you are moving into Warcry from Underworlds. Where every other Warcry Chaos warband calls one of the eight Mortal Realms their home, the Spire Tyrants’ homeland is the Eightpoints itself.Centaurion Marshal - Chaos Lord - Chaos Sorcerer Lord - Darkoath Chieftain - Darkoath Warqueen - Exalted Hero of Chaos - Ogroid Myrmidon Emulating the Venombloods, these warriors have dipped the spikes of their shields in lethal venom. An anvil as good as any to have the enemy break on, these warriors are usually the first thing enemies of the Splintered Fang whet their blades on. The only shortcoming here is the meager 10 wounds, do not let the enemy outnumber you or the plan will crumble

The third and fourth missions are general board control and eliminating your opponents models. It’s always easier to hold table quarters if all your opponents models are dead though….. Three objectives are on the table, and at the end of the first round the players roll off and the winner removes an objective and at the end of the second round they do this again. At the end of the fourth round, whoever holds the objective wins. Here we go, the Venombloods. These units in all their variations are the REAL combat threats compared to the Pureblood. This model can also be equipped with a Spear instead of a Whip which is my preference. You need to identify how you want to play, what your warband choice can do, and go from there. I would certainly recommend experimenting to find a list that suits your playstyle. Play some games and get the feel for the band, and then make changes to suit your tastes and what you find most effective. So make sure you know where you need your fighters to go, and don’t be too afraid of overcommitting with a double move action to get them there.
