About this deal

If you are really looking for a way of combining both Fanatec and Thrustmaster products together on a console, you will require some form of adaptor. As we mentioned above, both Xbox and PS5 only support 1 input device, meaning you can’t connect your peripherals seperately like you can on PC. These pro pedals bring a lot to the table. They combine elements from other Thrustmaster pedals to create the best Thrustmaster pedal set to date. The option to choose between two sets of brake mod and the customization of the pedal layout make for one of the most versatile pedal sets on the market. The same applies with the Fanatec shifter, as with the handbrake. Simply use the compatibility method detailed above to utilise a Fanatec shifter with a Thrustmaster wheel. Again, this method works across PC, Xbox and PS5. The footrest features an almost industrial style metal grip plate. And quite honestly, we really dig it. It looks hefty and it isn’t as slippery as you may think from first impressions. The great thing about the DriveHub is its huge compatibility with all sim racing products. It includes all main wheel bases, pedals, shifters and handbrakes from Fanatec, Thrustmaster and Logitech. This means you can create almost any combination of sim racing products, creating your ultimate sim rig for console.

Thrustmaster have been making the right steps towards the ultimate pedal set for a while. The base pedals you get with some Thrustmaster wheels come with only two pedals and are just not fit for sim racing. This allows you to run a closer brake and throttle pedal for heel and toe downshifting, if that’s your style. But despite not being able to compete with a true loadcell brake. The T3PA-Pro conical brake is almost, almost there. It adds a new dimension in terms of braking quality compared to other Thrustmaster solutions. And it should be your go to setup for a Thrustmaster pedal set. My local online electronics shop had something similar for the taper (still not a guarantee will work) but delivery time was too long and the price was ~10€ for a single pot, and the shaft did not mach (need D shaft, had knurled shaft), and if I have to guess the TM paid 0.5 - 1.5 euros per pot, most likely well below 1€, and I do not think there is value in spending 10€ for single potentiometer, since pedals are terrible to begin with, and if you want to spend more, then do a hall-effect sensor conversion or a load-cell, or buy a better pedal set. Cheap fix for cheap pedals is the name of the game here.Both pedal sets allow you to adjust the spacing between pedals. And they do this by allowing you to remove the pedal pad and mount it in three different positions. This is nice, although we would rather have been able to move each whole pedal individually like the Fanatec CSL Elite pedals. The T3PA is relatively standard fare in terms of sim racing pedals, if not at the higher-end of said classification. While the set is always going to be used in the F1 (standard) position, the array of tweaks and mods on offer allow for considerable customization. Furthermore, the archetypal design does extend to aesthetics, and equates to a truly classic design that doesn’t stand out nor offend. The Basherboards CPX Adapter V2 is compatible with the following sim racing devices, allowing you to combine any of the following;

As I just mentioned, you can also adjust the angle of each pedal, which is a lovely touch. By rotating the mounting support behind each pedal you can add an increased incline to each pedal. If you have previously used the standard two pedal kit that comes with Thrustmaster wheels, these will feel familiar. The brake and throttle pedals both feel almost identical to the two pedal kit. Thrustmaster have reworked the plastic base to include a nicer, more subtle grip design, which also adds to the increased aesthetic quality. As we stated in the previous section, both of these pedal sets have been around for a considerable amount of time and it’s probably best to say that they’re both overperformers – but the increased quality and customizability of the Pro model does translate to better performance. Leather-wrapped wheel with 25 action buttons, 1 push-button and 4 rotary selectors natively recognized in GT Sport (differential braking, traction control, fuel mapping, torque management)

What are the Thrustmaster T3PA pedals?

Overall, when compared to the two pedal set, the T3PA pedals do ooze a much more professional quality. We would say that almost any two pedal setup isn’t ideal, but this jump from the two pedals to the three feels rather more significant. The brake is a lot stiffer to press than the throttle and the clutch, as you would imagine. And it gives a decent feeling towards braking as standard. Thrustmaster has been in the business of making great gaming peripherals for decades. The T3PA and T3PA Pro are two of Thrustmaster’s best sim racing pedals, but which set is better? The T3PA Pro has a decidedly industrial design that is largely attributable to the fact that it is designed to be used in F1 or GT (inverted) positions – and us such must be somewhat more modular in aesthetic. Form is perhaps a secondary consideration with the pro model, and users will appreciate that no expense has been spared in pursuit of extreme functionality and versatility. We would highly recommend paying the extra cost to add these T3PA pedals to your Thrustmaster racing wheel bundle. We’ve spent a lot of time testing the T3PA pedals to be able to bring you our in depth review, and show you why you should upgrade to this pedal set.
