Both Wahl and Andis have moved on with better foil shaving products, however. Similar to what they’ve done with their adjustable clipper lines. Battery-wise, performance-wise and just all around, the #8061 shaver is old news. Since the beard is the most healthy hair on your body, a trimmer might not be enough to get the job done. This is where the Andis Profoil electric clippers will work well to ensure your beard are well shaven.

That said, if you plan on using the FXFS2 as your main shaver (for facial hair), you should consider that it only performs well on short stubble. Also, the foils are a lot narrower and even if the shaving head of the Series 9 is bigger, you can use only the uppermost foil for blending. Reasonable care and maintenance will give you a comfortable and razor bump-free shaving experience. While I’ve never been able to completely drain the battery as I prefer to always have at least 30% of charge in my shavers, I think the 3 hours claim is pretty much on point.
