About this deal

Killed Offscreen: Volume 04 indicates he was sentenced to death by being forced to drink poison, but the Light Novel doesn't feature a scene involving his death. Instead, Iris merely asks for confirmation regarding his death, and she goes about her day without batting an eyelash.

Laser-Guided Karma: Near the end of Volume 4, Edward tries to assume the throne after the death of the king and massive flooding. He tries to milk the Armelia duchy for disaster relief because he hadn't prepared for it like they had and threatens war when they reach their limits of assistance. However, it's an empty threat because of the three most powerful military powers in the kingdom, the Armelia family controls one, the allied Anderson family commands and mostly makes up the second and the third is loyal to the royal family who, funny story, have Alfred as their head because he's still the crown prince, no matter how loudly Edward says he's king now. Cool Old Guy: He is a grandfatherly figure to Iris and a guiding presence to the rest of the staff. Hypocrite: She hates Iris because she believes Iris views herself as entitled. Yuri on the other hand think she was entitled to steal Iris' finance and become Queen due to her hard life. Karmic Death: During Volume 03, Iris informs him that he most likely would be executed for acting as a spy and committing treason. Volume 04 confirms he would have to be forced to drink poison like his father did.Professional Butt-Kisser: Yuri makes a name for herself and gets into high society by being skilled at flattery. Not only do men grow attached to her, but they also tend to become incredibly arrogant and full of themselves. Gorgeous Period Dress: Iris' business grows in part because of increasing the practically and beauty of the nobility's dresses. Her introduction of silk in particular is wildly popular. Big Brother Worship: Iris's hard work and accomplishments inspire him, to the point that he asks Alfred to name her Duke of Armelia instead of him. Then Bern associates himself very strongly with Alfred's camp, which means it's politically near impossible for Iris to do the same and maintain the house's independence.

Dorsen is the second to recognize his mistake, finally realizing that he basically ruined the life of a girl who had a completely legitimate grievance with absolutely no substantial evidence that she did anything to begin with, never having spoken to her and seeing that at the very least she's a talented woman able to command the complete loyalty of some of the finest soldiers Dorsen has ever seen. He's slower to admit to himself that she might well have been in the right the whole time and is actually a good person. Past-Life Memories: She regains her past life’s memories right in time to avoid her bad ending. She is the same person, though the memories give her useful knowledge and a new perspective. Undying Loyalty: He is extremely loyal to Alfred. While he cares for Iris, he outright states if he had to choose between Iris and Dean, he’d choose Dean. Defrosting Ice Queen: After the betrayal she suffered, she has drawn a line she won't cross when it comes to trusting people. She complains Dean is making her to want to trust him with everything.

公爵令嬢の嗜み ; Koushaku Reijo no Tashinami ; Simply Good Sense for a Duke’s Daughter

Counterfeit Cash: Buys up a large chunk of Tasmeria's famine reserves from corrupt nobles with adulterated coins. Character Development: After comparing Yuri and his sister, Bern realizes what a foolish waste the former is and eventually distances himself from her to become more responsible. DivanOfficially, a merchant working for the Ayler Corporation. Unofficially, Tweil's top sabotage agent in Tasmeria. The High Queen: Following Edward's death and Alfred's supposed death, Leticia becomes the High Queen of Tasmeria, and she does what she can to be a true queen and not simply a link to the next generation. He regrets he judged Iris based on other people's accounts of her character instead of talking to her... so he goes to her fiefdom and asks her people what they think about her. Even though their opinions were positive he was making exactly the same mistake. It's lampshaded by Iris herself.
