About this deal

The original, chocolate chip and gluten-free Hobnob biscuits are what you would call ‘accidentally vegan’. That means that although they are suitable for vegans, they were not intentionally made to be vegan-friendly. Are there any vegan chocolate Hobnobs? Rolled Oats, Wholemeal Wheat Flour, Vegetable Oil (Palm), Sugar, Partially Inverted Sugar Syrup, Sodium Bicarbonate, Ammonium Bicarbonate & Salt.

Break the hardened toffee into shards. Transfer to a food processor or plastic bag and crush into pea-size bits. Milk Chocolate [Sugar, Cocoa Butter, Cocoa Mass, Dried Skimmed Milk, Dried Whey (Milk), Butter Oil (Milk), Vegetable Fats (Palm, Shea), Emulsifiers (Soya Lecithin, E476), Natural Flavoring]Another British tradition Bourbon biscuits were unleashed in 1910 by a Bermondsey-based company and are a taste of childhood. Who doesn’t love a Bourbon? 4. Oreos An insane choice? Surely not? Well, you better believe it. Jammie Dodgers have been deprived of acclaim for far too long. Sure, they’re not as established as some of their biscuity counterparts. They didn’t burst onto the scene until a short 50 years ago, but they’ve made great headway in that time. Their salty shortbread mixed with root canal-inducing raspberry jam provides a legitimate party in your mouth with every bite, especially combined with a mandatory cup of tea. You feel satisfied after a Jammie Dodger. Not all biscuits truly sate your appetite like these beefy boys do. It would be rude not to include another childhood favourite, pink wafers, on the list. If the pink ones are a little too, um, pink for your liking then Manner’s neopolitan and hazelnut wafers are also vegan-friendly and high on the flavour scale. 11. McVities Fruit Shortcakes There are many ‘Free From’ brands that are dairy-free and therefore vegan. However, this list looks only at accidentally vegan biscuits, so these aren’t included here. List of Vegan Biscuits As you can see, there are no animal byproducts in this recipe. The gluten-free version contains almost identical ingredients, except the wholemeal wheat flour is replaced with gluten-free wholegrain oat flour. The chocolate chip Hobnob ingredients are:

The drink that Kate likes the most is tea dripped. It’s a sturdy, oat-based base dipped in golden syrup and coated in chocolate. Once dipped in chocolate, the biscuit does not become completely soggy and retains some bite. Because how hobnob biscuits are made has always been a mystery, Kate wanted to try it out. It is a type of chocolate biscuit made from hjorthornssal (a.k.a. Baker’s ammonia (rather than baking powder) is used instead. This method resulted in even lighter, crispier biscuits. The only ingredients I do not want in them are refined sugar and palm oil, which are ingredients that I avoid. If you want to make a cheesecake, a crushed Digestive Biscuits base is a good idea. Vegan Friendly: Oreos Are Perfect For Any Sweet Tooth!Cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until the mixture thoroughly boils, darkens to the color of peanut butter and pulls away from the sides of the pan, about 5 minutes. 4.

NOTE: when I say biscuit in this post, I’m referring to the British word for cookie. I think of a biscuit as a certain type of cookie: one which is thin and always dry and crunchy, never soft or chewy. What I do not mean by biscuit is a scone-type-thing. Okay. Cool. Let’s proceed. Phew. Now all that’s out of the way, let’s dive straight into the list of which biscuits are vegan in the UK and which have animal ingredients like milk and eggs. 1. Biscoff Dip the top of each cookie into the melted chocolate. Lift and gently shake to allow any excess to drip off. Return to the sheet pan and repeat with the entire batch. 9. Digestives are normally heavy on the butter but Tesco has kindly made some that taste just as good, are totally dunkable and happen to be completely vegan-friendly. 6. Lotus Biscuits Why am I so fanatical about these biscuits?? Because they’re probably My Favourite Tea-Dipping Biscuit. A sturdy, oat base flavoured simply with golden syrup and held together with a coating of chocolate. Once dipped the chocolate melts and the biscuit doesn’t become utterly soggy – it retains some bite. Okay so you may read this thinking I’m crazy but the dunkability of a biscuit is SERIOUS business in England. There’s nothing more disastrous than dipping a biscuit into your cup of tea and watching it disintegrate as it falls to the bottom of the mug.Plain Chocolate Chips [Sugar, Cocoa Mass, Fat Reduced Cocoa Powder, Cocoa Butter, Emulsifier (Soya Lecithin), Natural Flavoring] Aside from the Original Raspberry flavour, you can also find Magical Strawberry, Gooey Apple, and Cherry Burst flavours.
