About this deal

Begone! I will not hear you. There can be no community between you and me; we are enemies. Begone, or let us try our strength in a fight, in which one must fall." What Skylar doesn't anticipate is the friendship she forms with the witty football player as months go on. And how easy it is to fall for him as he teaches her how to trust again...and so much more.” Skylar was a shy person when she entered the freshman year of college. And it didn't start out well for her. She struggled to make friends and one traumatic experience led her to not trust anyone. Then comes Danny, my love, he tries to help her and helps her learn how to trust others.

At age 16, Ivy runs away from a home where she feels no longer welcome, where her parents struggle with financial issues, where the cops are a constant presence after her parents fight and her mother verbally and emotionally abuses her. I thought that Dare You to Hate Me was pretty good. It’s basically past best friends reuniting unexpectedly in the same place at the same time. Sort of sports romance. Mainly the heroine overcoming her difficult past and really trying to figure out a life for herself. I liked the dynamic between Aiden and Ivy. Sort of this push and pull between them. Like Aiden clearly has these dominant vibes, but he’s also sweet and understands that Ivy can handle herself and doesn’t need the help or him trying to control her decisions. I don’t know this was just a good read. I even fell in love with most of the side characters and wish they’d all get books. She does talk about self harm in this book for one of the characters, so if that’s a trigger for you then you may want to skip this one or ask someone who has read it for clarification on how detailed it gets. If you find me on social media I can clue you in. B. Celeste is a brilliant storyteller who writes romances full of raw, real and emotional moments that captivate her readers wholeheartedly as they inhale the words of her epic love stories. She has truly become an influential voice when it comes to sensitive topics, turning what could have been a traditional sports romance into something so much more meaningful. She writes in a way that makes you feel as if she is stripping away layers of your soul, leaving it bare and exposed to the emotional impact that she is trying to portray through her characters and unique storytelling. Both our heroes have scars, but Ivy's are the longest and the scarriest... And Aiden is becoming for once again her strength to pull her out of her misery...Aiden melted my heart, throughout the whole book, even as a child he's always just wanted to be there for Ivy and to be what she needs. The fact that he was a virgin made him even more perfect in my eyes, it's definitely something we don't see enough in a hero but i'm so here for it. He’s coming over,” she squeaks, cheeks turning red like they always do in his presence. It’s why, as much as I want to pass him off to her to avoid any conversation, I have to handle it so she doesn’t make a fool of herself.

Overall, I absolutely loved the book. I can't say that it is entirely flawless, to be honest, because it has negativities here and there. But if it is only subjective matters, I don't want to travel that road, at all. i can understand both characters and why they do what they do, it still gets really irritating when they arent willing to learn so it becomes a huge cycle of the same thing Admittedly this won't be for everyone, our heroine does suffer from self harm and it didn't fully go into the details as some might want it to, it was glossed over not making that the full focus of this book and I was ok with that. I understood what she went through, I didn't need to be pulled under that cloud. I appreciated the glimpse was saw of her evolving into her own.

Overview

Ivy,” he repeats, and I wonder if he can hear how hard my heart thumps with the sound of my name coming from his lips again.
