So naturally if Nintendo decides to re-release Smash Bros Wii U or even Mario Galaxy on the Switch it should also get high praise because the games are great and though seemingly little is done to enhance these games they are still great. It's a tactic taken by Microsoft and Sony this gen, but for those who want to buy or rebuy it's hard to complain much. In late 2013, Mojang Studios founder Markus Persson announced that there were no plans to port Minecraft to the Wii U, stating that he wasn't aware of any plans but agreed that "a Wii U version would make sense." [10] Players of "Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition" (2017) will be able to convert their worlds to "Minecraft" (2018), but should expect the process to take some time. There is currently no way for Minecraft: Wii U Edition worlds to transfer to "Minecraft" (2018) on Nintendo Switch.

On December 7, 2015, the game was officially confirmed, and Mojang and Nintendo announced that Minecraft: Wii U Edition would be released on December 17th, 2015. [16] Minecraft is effectively the first Microsoft game published on a Nintendo system. A few earlier titles based on Microsoft-owned properties were released on Nintendo handhelds but, they were published by THQ. We've always thought internally that using the [Wii U] GamePad would probably make for a Minecraft that's very easy to play. And, of course, if we were to do something with Minecraft on the 3DS, similarly we would probably do it where it would be easier to play and could probably reach a lot of kids.As of Patch 43, the Wii U Edition has not received new feature updates, such as Village & Pillage, Buzzy Bees, the Nether Update, Caves & Cliffs, and so on. Well hope it works out for you and the kids. I'd say they were pretty young for Minecraft, but my kids were 2 and 3 playing Godzilla, so what do I know?. That Tab A looks nice. I got the Tab 4, which is better than my old Tab 2, but Samsung treats it like the ugly stepchild.

I know the "Craft" part was a pun on Minecraft, but why "best" when it clearly isn't? How about "At last we get to Craft". Has a nice poetic rhythm to it, no? What's interesting is that, in Japan, Minecraft is not popular in the way it is in the U.S. and Europe, so we've also thought that, if we were able to do a partnership like that, it might bring opportunity to help make Minecraft more popular in Japan. Oh, well. What did Wii U owners actually expect, realistically speaking with all that we have now experienced from third party developers?

In terms of how the game controls, everything is as intuitive as it could possibly be using a controller. Initially there's a bit of a learning curve (and this writer had difficulty adjusting to 'A' as the jump button rather than 'X', like Splatoon), but there's not much to complain about once you get the hang of it. Of course, it would be much easier if the inventory and various other menu screens could be navigated using the Wii U's GamePad, but it's certainly not a deal-breaker. It is with much disappointment that we have to announce that the Dolphin on Steam release has been indefinitely postponed," the Dolphin development team stated on its blog Friday. "We are currently investigating our options and will have a more in-depth response in the near future." On November 11, 2015, PEGI accidentally leaked a rating for Minecraft: Wii U Edition. The leaked rating was removed six days later. [14] [15] Initially, the Wii U version lagged behind the other console versions but, they eventually caught it up. However, The Aquatic Update, releasing by June 2018 will be the last major update for the Wii U version. The game will still support online play but, it will no longer get the feature updates the Switch version will get. Wii U Edition featured Off-TV Play, which allowed the game to be played exclusively on the Wii U GamePad's screen. There was some limited touchscreen functionality, allowing players to select items on their hotbar, navigate through the Crafting menu, and more. When asked about whether the Wii U GamePad could be used as a second screen for full inventory management, Owen Jones stated it was not at the moment, but it would be cool. [17] The Wii U GamePad was never usable as a second screen. Mii characters were used as the player's in-game username. In addition to the Wii U GamePad, the game was also playable with the Wii U Pro Controller, the Wii Classic Controller, or the Wii Classic Controller Pro.

At MINECON 2015, Mojang's COO Vu Bui was also asked about porting Minecraft to the Wii U. Bui stated: Controls exemplify the standard fare for all the console versions by now, and they find intuitive and simple solutions to solve the problem of not having a keyboard and mouse. Inventory screens and menus are simple to navigate, and while you can’t rebind every button to a different action, you’re given several good control alternatives if the default isn’t to your liking. Minecraft: Nintendo Switch Edition doesn’t support single Joy-Con play, so if you want to play with a friend they’ll need a full controller, but this doesn’t take away too much from the fun that can be had in playing with others. Minecraft will always be a game that’s made for the keyboard and mouse, but the controller set-up sufficiently manages to cover all the bases and deliver a satisfying experience. You don’t have to explore or build alone though – up to eight 'crafters can play together online*, while four can join each other in local multiplayer on the TV or in tabletop mode, supporting both split-screen and the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller (sold separately).http://nintendolife.com/news/2014/09/wii_u_minecraft_looking_doubtful_as_dev_says_they_have_fulfilled_the_need_for_now jariw As far as I can tell Smash on Wii U is a different game with different stages on 3DS and Wi U. It would be like calling Mario Kart 8 a port of Mario Kart 7. Unless 3DS got 8 player and nobody told me? Another point worth mentioning is that the online mode does not allow for in-game audio chat as of the time of writing. This is likely due to Nintendo not having its online service fully ready for the Switch yet, but it still is something to consider if you intend to be playing online with some friends. As is currently the case with Switch gaming you'll need to use your phones, tablets or computers - perhaps with one of the various free non-Nintendo apps out there - if you want to chat online while playing.
