That however is also the depth of each character. None of them are really worth caring about beyond the fun character designs. They're all shallow or tropey, enough so that it ends up being cringe. Investing into them doesn't do anything either, because they lose relevance after the chapter they got introduced in, which is probably why most of their introductions feel rushed.
