About this deal

Royally Not Ready turned into a friends to lovers romance and I enjoyed watching Lilly and Keller both grow and change into their new roles. It was entertaining and fun, emotional at times and all around a nice read. Lilly lost her parents at 17 to tragedy now ten years later she’s running her own bikini wagon and conducting wet t-shirt contests on the beaches of Miami enjoying her life. Keller has been charged to find the only remaining heir left to take over the throne for King Theo. You probably guessed that Lilly is that only remaining heir and now Keller has to turn this fun loving, bad word slinging American, into a Princess fit to take the throne. Royally Not Ready is a rom com, bodyguard, royalty book with loads of laughs and very few triggers. This book does have sexually explicit scenes with some BDSM. Trigger Warnings I’ll just lay it out there… in my opinion, this is Meghan Quinn’s best work. I thought I loved Royally Not Ready, but with the edition of this next chapter for Keller and Lilly, she legit hit it out of the park.

She has a fast attraction to the man sent to find her, Keller. Keller is determined to keep his distance from the outrageous American due to the difference in their stations and tries to put space between them despite their forced proximity as he trains her in the art of royalty.I have been absolutely BEGGING people to read Royally Not Ready since last year. I feel like it’s never gotten the hype it deserves. And now Meghan Quinn goes and drops this absolute masterpiece? Take my money. Keller and Lilly are attracted to one another after only a couple of days but they fight it. You have to suspend your disbelief for this story. From the tiny royal island nation (somewhere between Scandinavia and England) to the American heiress and her wet t-shirt contests to the tension between Lilly and Keller even though they are supposedly putting the country at risk. The tension is really delicious though. stars equals “Meh.” I will not read this book again, it had a lot of problems and I did not care for it.

I enjoyed the storyline but It did feel a little slow at times, maybe a little to long and drawn out. I wanted the family stuff so much but it doesn't really come into the story until like 75% in, I mean the entire story was about her meeting her family and it took to long to get there.

Publication Order of The Perfect Duet Books

The book almost felt like two separate stories or parts. Part one leading up to the wedding day, and part 2 after. It was longer than some other romance books because of this, and the angst lasted for a quite a while - as in, I needed a lot of tissues. I did enjoy the story overall, though there were a few things that felt like could have been cut from the story or could have been tied up a little more nicely. I won't go into the storylines or plot at all, I will say for me personally I found the book to be a little on the slow side. I did love all the detail and cultural building that was put into the book as Lilly progressed through her Queen in training program with Keller. I thought this really set the scene, but maybe a little at the cost to the pacing. Lilly and Keller were likable characters but there wasn't an instant connection to them or their romance I wasn't 100% sold until much later in the book. Yes. My. King. Royally in Trouble by Meghan Quinn was an angsty, heartfelt, and steamy romance that continued the story of Lilly and Keller. Meghan brings all her signature witty banter that we loved from Lilly and Keller in Royally Not Ready, but this time she weaves in all the tension and suspense. Their journey to finally reach their HEA is full of emotional twists and unexpected turns that will ultimately leave a worthwhile and satisfying smile on your face. Meghan Quinn has given us a grumpy sunshine romance that is filled with laughter, heartbreak, and a beautiful happy ending… or at least for now it’s a happy ending.
