It subverted my expectations both in a negative and positive way. The pacing improved much from the second book Sacrifice and the story was far more engaging, but it for me at least some parts felt they were stretched out too long the buildup to the climax was great though. They give us heroes who inspire us to try harder than we thought necessary, reach further than we thought possible, or risk more than we thought safe. And they give us villains who explore our deepest fears, challenge our insecurities, and question our deepest held convictions. Stories can do all these things and more. They explore the universal experiences of our lives, they stir emotions regardless of our race, color or creed, they help to bring us together through our shared experiences, and passions, and fears, and help remind us that we have more in common with each other than we think. Even with Harry Potter I could roughly predict how things would play out. Here I was quite sure that I would be able to do the same... But man, was I wrong! Jordan, Will (2020-11-19). Luke Crywalker (the viral clip of Jessica Starr, the infamous Trump inauguration screamer), often used when making fun of the far left.Tague, Katherine (2021-05-17). "The Critical Drinker: Hollywood's "Narcissistic Cowards "". FOX News Radio . Retrieved 2021-09-29. Sadly the tone of the characters is not always consistent, and several moments that are supposed to be emotionally important come too soon or are otherwise underdeveloped. The closer we get to the ending the more most characters seem to start following a typical Hollywood formula with all the clichés you may find in generic action movies, along with lines we've all heard uttered before. In any case, the book is written well enough and the story is compelling enough to keep the reader hooked. In conclusion, I thank you for writing such a fine spy thriller which managed to provoke some very passionate reactions from me. Jordan has made visits to both the United States and Eastern Europe, for research on his Ryan Drake series. The thing that was most important for Cain (and I suppose, any antagonist in my books) was to give him a logical goal that the reader can identify with. Cain's not out to topple governments or kill innocent civilians for the sake of being evil - he's pursuing a bigger objective that will gradually become clear as the story unfolds. It's just his methods, and how far he's willing to go, that set him apart from the more heroic characters. My intention is to give the reader something to think about when considering if he's truly a monster.

Jordan was born April 30, 1983 in Fife, Scotland. [2] While studying information technology at university, Jordan took several part-time jobs, including as a film and television extra, where he was cast as a WW2 soldier and thusly put through military boot camp in role preparation. [3] [4] The experience made him interested in military history research, which led to him writing his first novel Redemption [3], which would be published by Penguin Random House in 2012 as part of a three-book deal. [5] [6] Jordan would switch publishers from Random House to Canelo in 2015, when Canelo was founded and first offered UK authors 50 to 60% royalties. [7] [8] Jordan remarked that his switch to Canelo was largely driven by their ideas for digital e-book marketing, saying "Canelo have a huge amount of experience promoting authors online, which is where the industry is moving, so it make sense. When I met with them, they were able to give some really interesting marketing plans and how to push the series forward. The downside is that I don't have books that I can sign at the moment! It's always nice to have a book in your hand with your name on it, but in a way that's just ego. As a writer, you have to think about what's best for your career. It's about getting your name out there, and if it's going to be through e-books, so be it!" [8]

Hallelujah!", a choir played along an image of alcoholic drinks like whiskey to express his love for drinking. During one particular film shoot he was required to undertake military boot camp training, as he was to play the part of a World War Two soldier, and it was this training that led to his keen interest in military history and the many conflicts that have occurred. It was this interest that led him to research historical conflicts and, with his love of writing having already been ingrained from an early age, he then went onto write his first novel that was to see the introduction of Ryan Drake as a lead character. Other research included visiting Eastern Europe and America, spending time on the weapon ranges there, a journey which also took him to Washington D.C. He lives in Scotland with his wife and two sons, and is currently writing the next novel in the Ryan Drake series. Distrustful of this uneasy alliance and with no outside support to call on, Drake gathers his small group of trusted team mates and embarks on his most difficult and dangerous mission yet. However, his plans soon unravel, forcing him into a deadly game of cat and mouse against a vengeful British intelligence officer with an unknown agenda.

As in the first installment, the scene setting and action are well done. There were more twists and they mostly worked. There seems to be no wound, neither mental nor physical, that can prevent her from easily beating up anyone who crosses her path. And this is told to us ad nauseam throughout the book. I can appreciate the quality of the stories we used to tell, and I can see what damage we're doing to our artists of today. The next generation of moviegoers and filmmakers is going to grow up in a world where this ridiculous state of affairs is the norm. They won't have that experience needed to strive for something better, and I think we'll all suffer as a result.Sadly, Jordan's editor let him down again... badly. Within the first few chapters, there's a comment about the landscaping around a building, where Drake observes that a "coy pond" wouldn't have been out of place, presumably meaning a Koi pond. Then there's a scene where Drake's superior asks him something like "Was anything I said unclear?", to which he responds "Abundantly.", as if he'd been asked "Did I make myself clear?"...

Drinker's VIP Lounge -- The Drinker interviews creators and actors who've worked in Hollywood itself, from movies, TV and comics. This includes: Neil Marshall, Sam J. Jones, Mark Rolston, Marc Zicree, Adil & Bilall, and Mark Millar. This was introduced in March 2022. Not a great plan." (from The Avengers), used for highlighting the idiocy of someone's plan or thinking, either of an in-universe character or a real-world creator/company.

From the start Mr Jordan weaves a spell - the action is fast and believable' -- ***** Reader review The Drinker Fixes series shows how it is possible to keep the same themes, characters and most of the plot while dramatically improving the writing. This is to exemplify rather how poor the director and/or writer has handled its movie. With many major publications singing Jordan’s praises, most are drawn towards his sense of suspense. That and his ability to create action set-pieces which are highly visceral and entertaining for his readers to experience, is what many readers have come to appreciate, as he gains fans both far and wide. The career of Will Jordan is growing from strength-to-strength due to this, something that doesn’t appear to stopping anytime soon. No, not everything gave the catharsis or payoff I was hoping for, but the way Jordan managed to add new layers to protagonists and antagonists alike kept me invested all the way through. And, even if I'm not wholly satisfied with an ending, I do try to commend an author when they've managed to have my feelings mirror those of the characters, come the journey's end. Hello again Mr Jordan. You probably know that I got Ghost Target for my smartphone on Android Google Play Books. I read it and finished it. My verdict? I loved the book.
