Where things are a bit murky is when we get down to the new Samsung Q80B and Samsung Q60B – the only real advantage these models have over The Frame is typically a lower price. In terms of design, the Q80B and Q60B aren’t anything special and, as far as we know, neither come with the matte finish that The Frame has. That means The Frame could actually outperform the Q80 and Q60 series for the first time in The Frame’s history. The Frame is meant to act like a painting on a wall, and there’s no reason to think light would dance off the surface of a canvas or print as it does off of glass, right? Add in the television’s ability to optimize white balance and brightness for the environment and the pixels vanish, leaving you with… well, artwork on your wall. Samsung’s Frame TV sets have always impressed from a design standpoint, but have sometimes struggled when it comes to the actual picture department. Thankfully, the 2021 model has no such issues—this QLED set is at the very least a match for what Samsung puts out in the upper end of its mid-range lineup. As the most discreet TV for smaller spaces, the Samsung The Frame QE-32LS03C perfectly blends top quality TV when on and a work of art when off. See everything you watch come to life with greater detail and realism. Think of nature in even more wonderful shades. The sky is brighter, the grass is greener, and the details are clearer. Samsung's Quantum Dot-powered TVs transform light into lifelike and accurate colour – validated by Pantone. The result? A naturally bright and colourful picture in over a billion cinematic colours.We've retested the TV and concluded that it doesn't have any sub-pixel dimming, dithering, or crosshatching. The score has been adjusted. Yes, the possibility exists that you can use The Frame to supplement your décor and broaden your horizons. But not everyone is going to love this style of art as a service. Samsung 65-inch Class The Frame QLED 4K Smart TV (2022) review: Audio First, it has a fairly bright image, with the ability to look clear and distinct on a bright day. The color reproduction is also nuanced, rich and fine, thanks to Samsung’s QLED color filter with quantum dots. The sound quality from The Frame’s 40-watt, 2.0-channel built-in audio system was passably good, though I didn’t stress it much during use. While dialogue was clear, connecting to an external soundbar would have undoubtedly enhanced performance. (The Frame TVs come with Samsung’s Q-Symphony feature, which allows for one of the company’s soundbars and the set’s speakers to play in unison.) A Bluetooth wireless output provides another TV audio support option. Early verdict When you’re in the room, the Motion Sensor detects your presence and automatically turns the TV to Art Mode, so you can enjoy art while you’re there. When you leave, it turns off into standby mode to save energy. Plus, the Brightness Sensor detects ambient light and automatically adjusts the screen’s brightness and colour tone to perfectly match the art piece on display.*
The Frame TV is as much a statement piece of interior design as it is a standard television with its Art Mode and colorful bezel framing options. So if style is important to you, this is a solid choice.
