About this deal

Indira runs hot and cold. She's snarky (and not the kind that I like) and in the same breath can be soft and gentle. I am getting whiplash. Each chapter is titled to give us a countdown to Colin and Jeremy's wedding. A wedding that Chris will be attending, so Jude offers to be Indira's fake date. As they spend more and more time together the fake dating line gets a bit blurred. I felt that mental health was well written. I liked that Indira is a psychiatrist who sees one herself and that Jude got the help he needed as well. A Brush With Love series #3. Contemporary romance. Can be read as a stand-alone. 5e epilogue does wrap up all three relationships of the series. At least, she thought they both knew that. It wasn’t like they talked about their relationship. They didn’t talk about much, if she were being honest …

i’m sincerely so glad i requested this book from netgalley, i think it might be one of my favorites that i’ve read. this really is gonna hold a place in my heart with how much i resonated with it <33 definitely recommend!! There was so much to love about this book . . . Thank you to Mazey Eddings for this romance with its messy, true, and painfully real representation of anxiety . . . We need more books like this in the world’ and the romance? what romance? Indira and Jude had the chemistry of a Tesco’s meal deal of a ham sandwich on white bread, ready salted crisps and a bottle of water. But these two had such a great relationship, and I loved that they pretty much kept their original childhood relationship but then built on top of that. Their love language was roasting each other, and it was amazing and something I wholly identify with. The Plus One has THEE best trope: childhood nemesis. Not only that, but they also have to pretend to date! Which makes it ten times better. Indira and Jude are really the best people ever and they deserve the world and their love story is super adorable and swoony and I need more. I'm sad to see the A Brush with Love series end, because Mazey did wonderfully. These characters all resonate with you and stay with you days, months, years after reading their books. They become a part of you and I'm so glad that I got to experience them. Mazey Eddings is a neurodiverse dentist, author, and (most importantly of all) a stage mom to Zadie and Yaya, her cats. She has roots in North Carolina and Ohio, but calls Philadelphia her home. Jude, a surgeon, has been traveling the world for the past few years working in the most dire circumstances, war-torn and impoverished communities; humanitarian crisis zones. Returning to the United States for Colin's wedding, Jude is having a hard time adjusting. As Indira and Jude spend more time together, it becomes clear that maybe their opinions of one-another have changed. It's hard to deny the spark that fires between them. Will it last, or will it fizzle out once their need for fake dating is over?

this is an incredible third installment to the already hilariously-fun 'A Brush With Love' series and I am so glad i can add this to my list of 'books that make me suffer a bit less'. Book 3 in the A Brush With Love series ~ previous book characters are involved here, but probably fine as a standalone. Indira and Collin were close, having leaned on each other since they were little ones trapped in the crosshairs of a messy divorce, and she knew he wouldn’t mind her crashing at his place. In fact, despite the longer commute she’d have to endure for work, she felt a tiny bubble of excitement at the opportunity to spend time with her brother while she figured out what to do next.indira is definitely my favorite character from this little companion series, partially because she’s the one i relate to the most, but also because she’s just such an amazing character in general. she’s witty and fun, not afraid to speak her mind while still managing to be respectful, and overall just has so much love to give for the people in her life. i truly adored her. and jude, ohhh jude. it was very hard to read his chapters sometimes because of how truly broken and sad this boy was, but once indira crashed her way through, seeing him become happy and hopeful was just so ridiculously sweet. i was rooting for him since he was first introduced. i loved that mental health was an important aspect of their relationship and that they were both working on becoming better for themselves. I loved seeing the shift in their relationship and how their thoughts of one another slowly changed. From frenemies to tentative friends to an inseparable bond to lovers. How they started to lean on each other for support and seeing them fall in love was the absolute best! Childhood frenemies find that they have a lot in common when they reconnect as doctors trying hard to heal themselves. While Indira is happy to have a place to go to escape Chris and his new lady friend, that doesn't solve all her problems. Chris is friends with Colin and part of the wedding party. also no book beloved to me comes without trauma and don't you forget it. jude is suffering from complex ptsd due to his time in such intense crisis situations and indira hasn't healed from all the trauma in her life.

this is a story about how they both learn to trust each other, find comfort in each other and realize that love doesn't solve everything BUT it does make our tiny world a better place for us.

Thrust into an elaborate (and ridiculously drawn out) wedding event that’s stressing Jude beyond belief and has Indira seeing her ex and his new girlfriend far more frequently than any human should endure, the duo strike a bargain to be each other’s fake dates to this wedding from hell. The only problem is, their forced proximity and fake displays of affection are starting to feel a bit… real, and both are left grappling with the idea that a situation that couldn’t be worse, is made a little better with the other around. The Review: She stormed through the apartment, dropping bags on the kitchen counter as she gathered up odds and ends. Indira made sure to slam the door behind her as she went, then flew down the stairs and out to the street. It took her a few minutes of wandering to remember what random-ass side street she’d parked on, but she eventually found her car. Content warnings from the author ~ PTSD from losing patients as a medical provider in emergency situations, emotional repercussions of growing up with divorced parents, moving on after a past partner cheats I really enjoyed these two together, their self journey and their journey to each other, and how it all wrapped up. This was a great ending to the series.

except mazy eddings said "only fathers are garbage"and "brothers and their best friends are actually the most wonderful, kindest people. court adjourned." But, observing the unearthly noises and mentally preparing to lose at least a nipple, if not an entire boob, to Grammy’s claws in what was about to go down, Indira wondered if she was making a fatal mistake. You feel as though are there and living with these characters while reading this story. The turns and twists keep you intrigued so you have to keep reading to learn what will happen next. Rake and Lizzie are interesting and complex characters, and Lizzie’s own experiences with ADHD add in an extra layer to this novel which is highly fascinating. Readers adored Lizzie and found they wanted to protect her from anybody wishing her harm. Mazey delivers a steamy, horny, feel good time that is all about being your true authentic self, learning to accept love, accept yourself and that you are just enough.I loved Indira a whole bunch. Watching her heal from her struggles and understanding what troubles her was gratifying. While it was difficult for her to do so, she was so brave. She was also hilarious and her banter with Collins was so funny! But, irrationally, it was a hell of a lot easier to ride the wave of a decent week than to sit down on Dr. Koh’s beige couch and sift through her feelings until she realized she’d been deluding herself and her week was, in fact, total shit. Indira hiked up the stairs of her building and let herself into the unit, sweeping into the kitchen with a flourish.
