About this deal

many unnecessary Misunderstanding Dramas, which is kind of understandable, since they were two queer teens in their first relationship (& it's good & educational for young readers, how they talk about emotions & relationships without getting to a real fight), but it was dull, & exhausted me & sometimes it didn't feel real. The solar cycle is defined by the sun’s magnetic fields, which loop around the sun and connect at the two poles. Every 11 years, the magnetic fields reverse, causing a disruption that leads to solar activity and sunspots. Oh, absolutely. Mark had a lot of fun concocting all sorts of juicy updates for other characters, which I fully endorse! For details, you have to wait and read the book. The process of creating sunspots opens a connection between the corona (the very outer layer of the sun) and the sun’s interior. Solar matter surges out of this opening in formations called solar flares. These explosions are massive: In the period of a few minutes, solar flares release the equivalent of about 160 billion megatons of TNT, or about a sixth of the total energy the sun releases in one second.

The sun also emits infrared radiation—whose waves are a much lower-frequency. Most heat from the sun arrives as infrared energy. At around 70 percent of the sun’s radius, the convective zone begins. In this zone, the sun’s temperature is not hot enough to transfer energy by thermal radiation. Instead, it transfers heat by thermal convection through thermal columns. The vast majority of electromagnetic waves that come from the sun are invisible to us. The most high-frequency waves emitted by the sun are gamma rays, x-rays, and ultraviolet radiation (UV rays). The most harmful UV rays are almost completely absorbed by Earth’s atmosphere. Less potent UV rays travel through the atmosphere, and can cause sunburn. But they want to keep trying to make it work. Their relationship is so much more complex. We only get a glimpse of what they’re like in The Trials of Apollo, so I was thrilled to see their development. Will is also an amazing character. We get to learn more about him and he’s such a sunshiny sweetheart. He cares about his boyfriend, friends, and family a lot. And of course, Nico. I’m proud of him for growing up. He finally learns to embrace that darkness, the light, all his feelings (both positive and negative). He finally learns to cope in a healthy way. He finally accepts that he can be happy. EOW: End of week. As in, “I will submit by end of week.” Actual meaning: “You will get this 4AM on Saturday morning.”

so will first kissed nico after the burning maze, when jason died. but they started dating somewhere before the hidden oracle. that's okay ig?? but like nico and will's reaction after their kiss gave them major non-dating vibes. idk if that's like a typo or something but that was weird The writing style also didn’t work for me because of how dominated it was by lame jokes that barely had any of the classic Pjo humour we’re used to, and because of how it had SO MANY pop culture references. These pop culture references date the book which is annoying since Riordan has told us time and time again how the book doesn’t follow a certain date. This is a minor annoyance but jfc they were not needed. The solar wind fills the heliosphere, the massive bubble of charged particles that encompasses the solar system. the Writing style was bugging me at some points (the fun was not even funny. not to mention out of character.)Nico wakes up and walks outside, Will joins him soon after and after Nico fails to convince Will to rest more, the demigods head out. As they walk, Will hums a sing his mother wrote and asks Nico about his mother. The son of Hades says he remembers few things before his mother’s death but thinks of them as someone else’s memories, which he says is a coping mechanism used by those dealing with post traumatic stress. As they trudge on, Will starts to weaken and Nico takes out their last piece of ambrosia. Will tells him to save it for when they really need it. Soon they reach a wall of darkness that only Nico can see. Remembering it from his first trip to Tartarus, Nico realizes they are close. He urges Will, who does not believe there is anything in front of them, to trust him and they enter. Soon Will sees what Nico sees and Nico almost falls into an invisible abyss, but Will catches him. Soon they find Bob. looking at all the dark parts of you in the eye and knowing you are who you are because of all of it. Solar prominences are bright loops of solar matter. They can burst far into the coronal layer of the sun, expanding hundreds of kilometers per second. These curved and twisted features can reach hundreds of thousands of kilometers in height and width, and last anywhere from a few days to a few months. English scientist Sir Isaac Newton used a telescope and prism to scatter the light of the sun, and proved that sunlight was actually made of a spectrum of colors. The sun and the star are what Bob refers to Will and Nico as: when they combine their powers together to free Bob, Will is described as burning with the brightness of a thousand suns while Nico burns like a red giant, a star ready to explode.
