The Case of the Rich Woman- Parker Pyne helps a wealthy woman find happiness in an interesting way. It has what I'd consider a sweet though somewhat impractical end. The Case of the Caretaker- In which the best cure for Jane Marple while recuperating from a bad flu is a mystery to solve prescribed by her clever doctor. A very good story. Fruitful Sunday- Another story with jewels at the center and a couple who are trying to determine how they came to be where they were. The is a cute story but not terribly memorable. A Satterthwaite and Quinn story. Very cozy. Satterthwaite runs into Quinn at the opera. As always these stories are more about atmosphere and less about mystery for me. It asks the question: are women blessed or cursed with a beautiful face? Parker Pyne and Harley Quin have always been my least favorite main characters. However, the Harley Quin and Mr. Satterthwaite stories in this collection are both really clever and were fun to read. I've been an Agatha Christie fan for many years and loved this collection. It would also be a great introduction to Christie for those who are less familiar with her work. I would rate it 4.5 stars.

Susan Gates The sinister Susan Gates Susan Gates (Valerie Azlynn) is the main villainess from the 2017 Lifetime film, A Deadly Affair (airdate March 5, 2017). She is a married lawyer who was having an affair with her friend Mary's husband, Charlie, only for her illicit lover to decide to end their relationship. Susan wasn't convinced at first, but when she and Trevor dined with Mary and Charlie in the film, seeing them together like a happy couple convinced her that it was over. Parish, James Robert; Pitts, Michael R (1974). The Great spy pictures. Metuchen, NJ: Scarecrow Press. p.138. ISBN 081080655X. As it is a Columbia Pictures production and Paramount owned the film rights to the name George Smiley, the central character is renamed Charles Dobbs. Paramount acquired the film rights to the character name when filming The Spy Who Came In from the Cold (1965). [2] A reference point in the film is Kate Chopin's 1899 novel "The Awakening," which presents ideas that prefigure American feminism. But the film does not provide a thoughtful context for any awakening of the protagonist Mary, other than it is a good idea not to trust anyone in her town! The beloved Miss Marple gets her turn at bat in “Death by Drowning.” She boldly inserts herself into the drowning of Rose Emmott, a young girl who she insists was a murder victim. It is so much fun to see Scotland Yard completely bungle a case that the feisty Miss Marple is able to solve with ease.

It's February so a book of love stories (many with mysterious leanings) seemed a good thing to choose. This is not a bad collection of short stories from Agatha Christie. As with most collections, some stories I liked others I was neutral on (YMMV) but I'm glad I read these. I don't know that Id recommend this as a place to begin with Christie or short stories but for those already in, its a good comprehensive collection. The Deadly Affair is a 1967 British spy film based on John le Carré's first novel, Call for the Dead (1961). The film stars James Mason and was directed by Sidney Lumet from a script by Paul Dehn. This has to be one of the worst lakorn I have seen and if I inflicted this to myself I surely do not wish anyone to do the same for himself. Stay away from this torture which will never give you any moment of joy or any real satisfaction of being entertained. Even if the performance of the lead actors is commendable I will give this 1/10 because I really lost my time on this crappy lakorn. They all feature a clever crime or a mystery, of course, but the focus is more towards the human condition of love with themes of infidelity, unrequited love, love as a patriarchal tool, love gone stale, and possessive love, to name a few. This pairing is already a visual pairing worth watching for. Their chemistry here does not disappoint either, it is James Ji's one of the rare firsts being paired with an actress who is younger and matches his baby face. (I love noona romances, but Karat Ruk was one of the firsts for me to be not able to digest). James JI and Gina are on fire here with their acting and their match, it seems that this pair really enjoyed working with each other and I loved many moments with them, and this might be their best acting so far according to me imho.

A rich woman with a case of ennui, Mr. Parker Pyne playing the part of therapist, and possible soul switching. This short story is in a different vein of the mysteries, no murder, but still has the reader working to catch up with the questions and answers. Just a week prior, Valerie Azlynn also appeared as the psychotic Alyssa in Nanny Seduction. Coincidentally, in this movie, she's also working against a protagonist played by Austin Highsmith.

The collection opens with “The King of Clubs,” a terrific story featuring Inspector Hercule Poirot, who is immediately thrust into investigating the murder of impresario Henry Reedburn. Of course, Poirot trusts the instincts of his “little grey cells” that point him in the direction of the actual guilty party.

Death on the Nile- Parker Pyne is the sleuth here and this short is not to be confused with the full-length Poirot novel of the same name (Why Agatha?!). The players are somewhat similar here as well, a wealthy and difficult woman with a husband. Tommy & Tuppence are at it again! This time they are solicited by a beautiful actress. They go to meet her at the appointed time and find her murdered! Add to this rumors of a ghostly policeman, a mist that creeps along a lonely street, and you've got a short story with atmosphere! The 'creepiest' in the collection! Mark (he is one of the cutest children in Lakorn Land even if his mom is a bitch he is well mannered and I don't know where he got those manners but he is the cutest pie ever, I want to boop his nose, ok sorry for ranting over the cuteness of Mark) But this isn't some sweet Make-A-Wish thing. No, someone wants to frame their spouse's lover using the poison they supposedly bought to take out some flying pests.Although that is not enough for defending this lakorn, no matter how good their chemistry here is I will always wish for another lakorn of them because this LAKORN is not a romance, no it is not a romance, yes they are a couple, yes they do kiss but this lakorn is not focused on one genre, explaining my heading, this lakorn has tried to be a romance lakorn, revenge, action, thriller but in the end all it is a mix of these things but they do not coincide with each other to be called a genre, these elements are weird and the directors at some point messed up because in the start it was definitely more than a mess. Either because Ch3's repeated cutting of episodes or because of the script but since Meena has been introduced this lakorn is only compromised of plot twist's and although this lakorn as seen in the comment section has a lot of fan theories, if the directors had calculated their math seriously, or at least read fan's theories this lakorn would be a 10 already, since the fan's in MDL have better ideas than what the directors tried with the plot twists, definitely making this lakorn a twist up and pent up mess. At the start, this was very addicting and still is (at 16 episodes; still ongoing) but the problem is, the romance development which many people came for is still unfulfilled for, yes we might get more romance moments, but at this moment I feel pent up with the missed potential this lakorn has. Despite all of these, our characters do have some depth and I have to praise Yeena way too much, because she worked with crying, and not seeming like a baby, she had cried with depth she cried almost every episode, and her acting reminds me of Yaya in Kluen Cheewit, I love how Yeena depicted all of Jay with her heart and she was amazing for an actress working with this messy plot, her actions at the start might make you repulsed, or might make you dislike her ( I never did though) but as the lakorn goes on, you would realize she is one of the strongest, one of the rare nang ek's (FL) that make you like her more than the pra'ek (ML) since Jay is such a character with depth, she is a puff pastry and to uncover her you need to peel off all of her layers, and the result is Jay who is relatable, is she a pain in the ass? Yes, but is she likeable and badass? Also yes. I love how Yeena made her character relatable, I've not seen many actresses pulling of this role, and usually the pra'ek over power's them either way, but this was Yeena's show despite her screen time and I am officially a fan of her. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, came out in 1920. During her first marriage, Agatha published six novels, a collection of short stories, and a number of short stories in magazines. The Double Clue- In which Poirot susses out a jewel theft. This is his first meeting with the Russian Countess. A good beginning.

Some dramas try to be a combination of everything and this one embodies that statement. Ch3's newest airing drama, with the star James Jirayu who is a popular fan favorite that many people might want to watch this lakorn for. Yeena Salas who is a newcomer, but has captured a lot of fans as a young actress, is our nang ek. I’ve not read Christie is ages, only watched various movie adaptations, and this collection was an absolute pleasure to spend time with. I’ve read a bunch of golden age mysteries and few and far in-between have the same effortless appeal, charm and timeless quality to them as Christie’s work. This collection is like a box of chocolates, it depends on your individual taste. Do you prefer dark chocolate or coconut cream? That’s how these stories are. Some you will gravitate more towards than others. I don’t think any of these stories are bad. If you have to choose a Christie short story collection to start with, I would suggestion this one over the other two mentioned.

The Love Detectives- In which Harley Quin, Mr. Sattherthwaite & Inspector Curtis try to suss out a murder with a love triangle attached. It's the second Quin/Satthertwaite appearance in this book and I'm still not sure what to make of Harley Quin. Must read more of them I think. But it turns out that Charlie may have been sleeping with his wife's friend Susan, who is married to Trevor. In a moment of weakness, Mary kisses Trevor, then regrets her actions. But Trevor becomes obsessive over Mary, and begins to stalk Mary. Susan is an attorney, who offers to represent Mary. But is Susan to be trusted?
