As there are two sprues I’ve laid out each model above with its respective twin. thanks to some of the different arm choices along with the head, there are only 2 models above which look pretty much identical.

That history of longing for the most awesome-looking tabletop vexillology has led me here, to this day, and this magnificent Stormcast Eternal’s superbly sculpted banner. I think I’ll paint it purple and gold. This one was a bit more of a pain. I should have just removed most of the push-fit posts on this one and glued him together. They were a bit too tight and with the parts so fragile it was hard not to have large gaps. With these being of the easy-build/push-fit ilk, I expected this to be some simple chopping and squeezing with just a bit of attention applied to trimming down sprue games and shaving off mould lines. I wanted to come out of this review telling you that push-fit is now my preferred way of building Warhammer models.The Kruleboyz revel in the chaos of the rise of the Earthquake God, Kragnos. Drybrush a 2:1 mix of Vallejo Model Color Ivory and German Grey, focusing on the chest, shoulders, arms, and knees Those war leaders who succeed in bending a troggoth to their will are powerful indeed. The Breaka-boss will goad these lumbering behemoths into battle, literally pointing them in the direction of the enemy and letting them vent their rage.

Brightly painted leering faces on greenskin shields have been a part of Warhammer for over four decades, and these sculpts bring them to life in greater detail than ever before. Older editions of Warhammer Fantasy Battles are replete with examples of distinctive shield designs, like these classic John Blanche studies, and it’s easy to see how they’ve inspired the skareshields of the Kruleboyz. Well, you should be able to see that they’re pretty splendid to behold. As for ease of building, however, I was surprised by the extent to which Dominion’s models pay for their complex beauty with unusually fiddly construction. Knight-Arcanum - The Knight-Arcanum are wizards unit with access to the Blaze of Heavens spell, which can deal D3 mortal wounds to an enemy unit within eighteen inches. The range of the spell is boosted by two inches for every Thunderstrike unit within twelve inches of the Knight-Arcanum, so surround them with friendly warriors for a long-rage sniping spell. The Era of the Beast has almost begun, and what better way to prepare for the glorious wars to come than with a Realmscape battlefield depicting the murky swamps and dusty, barren wastelands of Ghur? This Realmscape set includes two double-sided, fold-out, heavy-duty game boards, each 22.4″ x 30″ in size. Keep an eye out for more news on both the Stormcast Eternals and Kruleboyz. Both armies are ready to be used on their own straight out of Dominion or mixed into your existing collections, but these models are just the tip of the iceberg. Leap Into The Era of the Beast And, if you’re already a paid-up owner of one or more 40K armies, plus well-thumbed copies of all the attendant literature, then dropping a solid chunk of change on a technically-not-compulsory AOS rulebook is likely to feel a safe enough bet.

Leading the charge is a new collectible boxed set, Age of Sigmar: Dominion, and three smaller starter sets. What was once a muddled setting with a stilted ruleset, Age of Sigmar is accelerating its growth, breaking away from existing tropes and evolving into something unique and memorable. If you were looking for a place to jump into the hobby, now is an exceptionally good time. Some Stormhosts add in new options for battleline, but we’ll just be looking at basic battleline choices here for ease, as they’ll work for any Stormhost. Expanding the Army

And all of this hunting is time. Time I want to spend painting minis; time you probably want to spend playing the game. As with the Vindictors, they all have multiple head options and I must be getting brave as a painter having chosen the faces over the usual masked models. Knight-Vexillor with Banner of Apotheosis - The Knight-Vexillor is a support unit carrying the Banner of Apotheosis, which once per game can heal 3D3 wounds or return slain warriors split between three units. The banner also lets you reroll failed charge rolls for Stormcast units within twelve inches. These models come supplied with 20x Citadel 25mm Round Slotta Bases.I neglected to take step-by-step photos while painting, so here are the recipes and a couple of screenshots! I use mostly non-GW paints, but the exact paints are less important than the colors and the techniques. The annoying part of these is once again the join lines. Hidden well on the upper shoulder, though the pins once again prevented me from pushing the body flush. However. even then the lower armour plates beneath the shoulder and the parts inside of the head carapace are obviously visible and inaccessible for clean up. I’m splitting hairs here, but I’m a critic after all, and if this is my biggest complaint, well, that’s a good thing right? This novel by Darius Hink plunges directly into the setting of the Era of the Beast as the Kruleboyz rise up and the Thunderstrike Stormcast Eternals take to the field.
