Bacardi-owned top gin producer Bombay Sapphire has unveiled a limited-edition gin inspired by “the universal glow of the setting sun,” according to the brand.

It is the second gin in the brand’s series of Special Editions, following the release of Bombay Sapphire English Estate in 2019, and comes after the launch of its first flavoured expression, Bombay Bramble, in March 2020. Bombay Sapphire recommends serving Sunset with tonic water, or ginger ale, garnished with an orange wheel and star anise seed pod. This new summery tipple has been created using Bombay Sapphire’s original recipe, featuring 10 core botanicals with the addition of three extra ingredients: golden turmeric, Indian white cardamom and Spanish mandarin. Bombay Sapphire Sunsetbalances the spices of the cardamom and turmeric together with bittersweet sun-dried Spanish mandarin delivering aromatic spice and warmth, justlike those last rays of sunshine at the end of the day.” Divide the mixture between two coupe glasses, serve immediately with the curled lime zest on the rim of the glass and a slice of satsuma in the drink.
