As I searched for an alternative, I wanted it to feature fruity notes like litchi and juicy mandarin. The fragrance arrives in the iconic silhouette flacon in unforgettable croc-embossed turquoise. “It had to be vibrant and unique,” says Rahmé. I don’t smell the tropical nature, as Litchi tends to project. Instead, it pairs with the orange and musk to emphasize a fresh aroma like clean sheets. What’s the most unique part of the opening? Sweet vanilla and praline sprinkled atop the exuberance of freshness and ambroxan.As for occasions, it is all. Its combination of aroma and projection makes it so wearable. The projection is present but not overwhelming. While the aroma is charming and alluring. Greenwich Village is an amber floral fragrance first introduced in 2019 by Bond No. 9. Featuring a fruity opening with undertones of jasmine and vanilla, the dry down brings a more masculine woody vibe that is youthful and vibrant. Greenwich Village is sample and decant-worthy. As a man writing this, the biggest disappointment is that it’s slightly feminine leaning. Sometimes the fruity florals just become too much. However, this fragrance isn’t exclusively for women. It just depends on your tolerance for unisex fragrances.Greenwich Village holds unfortunately also like glue, on the skin over 15 hours, longer I could not test it because I showered. On clothes Greenwich Village lasts through days and even a wash has not been able to remove the scent 100%. Unfortunately, a lot of things await you after spraying it on, but nothing good. I smell here just BR 540 combined with a load of indefinable fruit notes. I must say here at this point I do not like BR 540 at all, but when I read the fragrance pyramid I would never guess a similarity here. Unfortunately, Greenwich Village is again significantly worse for me than BR 540 due to this really penetrating fruity note Greenwich Village seems so muddled and not balanced. In short I find it really awful. I just smell saffron and can not detect any other fragrance notes here except vanilla. Along with the moderate projection, this is a fragrance everyone can experience but not be pushed onto them hence, why it is mass-appealing. It could also have happened an accident in the laboratory and all fragrance notes have run each other. Greenwich Village is a sweet, floral scent with a musky base, but the ambroxan note featured as it dries down gives it a unique vibe that I do not find in many other fragrances with similar profiles. The first spray is all about ambroxan. It isn’t as heavy as usual but adds a warm depth. Ambroxan pairs with fresher and fruity accents. The two most prominent fruits in the scent tree are Litchi and Orange. A dupe of Greenwich Village shouldn’t include anything too spicy since those hints tend to project more than fruity or floral ones. While I think a fragrance with green notes can work, they shouldn’t remain prevalent through the dry down since that will change the scent’s overall vibe.
