About this deal

Champions for Children is an American Airlines employee volunteer program with UNICEF that serves as the U.S. support for UNICEF’s Change for Good program. American Airlines flight attendants volunteer while at work to collect foreign and domestic currency contributions from American Airlines customers on all international flights and U.S. flights to and from Hawaii. Champions have also been able to visit UNICEF projects to witness the impact of the funds they have collected through Change for Good. Miles for Social Good The level of change made by young people on the programme varied. Overall, the proportion of young people with a clinical level of need on any standardised measure fell from 27% at the start of the programme to 18% by the end of the programme. This was statistically significant, although it is not possible to attribute any change solely to the programme as the sample size was small and there was no comparison group. You might not have the most challenging job, but in a troubled economy you do have a job — so that’s a blessing worth counting. And even though your romantic life might be as exciting as a trip to the dentist without Novocaine, remember that the good friends and great family you do have are special gifts, and their love will help see you through hard times.

We offer consultation services such as advice and recommendations to professionals about managing cases that are complex or involve high-risk harmful sexual behaviour. This may include guidance or oversight on work that has been completed, or when there is an active police investigation which may mean an assessment can’t be completed at the same time. We can also provide advice about issues affecting the case, to help decide whether an assessment would be appropriate.

provide a safe space for parents and carers to pause and process what has happened, usually for the first time. This might include putting these feelings into words and having them listened to and validated. Get away from the problem. While it might seem like running away, if you can move somewhere where troubled memories don’t follow you wherever you go, you open the door to a new mindset, and that, coupled with a new environment, can lead to better things that can turn a negative into a positive. A range of suggestions were made by young people, parents and carers, referrers and practitioners about how the Change for Good manual could be improved. This included making the material more interactive, having it online, and giving young people more opportunity to practice their skills. The homework projects were completed in less than half the sessions so need to be reviewed.
