Nose: Reminiscent of warm evenings on the island, our classic fresh citrus and vanilla character is balanced with the herbal and floral aromas of the American Rye barrels, delivering aromas of mango, fresh mint and crushed almonds.

Warm gold in colour, Jura 14 Year Old Rye Cask is reminiscent of warm summers evenings on the island, with classic fresh notes of citrus and vanilla balancing mango, fresh mint and crushed almonds. Jura is an island nestled off the West Coast of Scotland. With only one road, one pub, one whisky distillery and 212(ish) people, Jura is as beautiful as it is remote. Add 45ml of JURA Whisky, 5ml of sweet Vermouth and 5ml of Maraschino liqueur to a mixing glass filled with ice.

Nose: Zesty wafts of fresh lemon peel and candied orange open things up followed by mint leaves and blossom.

But the perception of Jura seems to change. Slowly. Taste: A slight peppery tinge on the arrival at first, building towards cloves, burnt toast and cardamom. The mouthfeel is decent enough considering the low abv. There’s whiffs of caramel, walnut skins and creamy custard too. Jura Single Malt Scotch Whisky is marking its 60th anniversary, and the entire island is immersed in this week’s festivities! Nestled just a few miles off the picturesque west coast of Scotland, Jura has been cherished by whisky aficionados and intrepid explorers from across the globe. Matured in American white oak ex bourbon and hand selected American Rye barrels, the casks deliver depth and complexity to our 14-year-old single malt with layered spice, aromatic, herbal and floral qualities. The remote Scottish island provides the canvas from which these dedicated islanders take their inspiration and the distillery provides the means to bring this to life. Our stills are amongst the tallest in Scotland, which create a light new make spirit with a citrus and pine character, and we use peated malted barley for less than four weeks a year which is added sparingly to provide body and seasoning to each whisky. This allows the Jura distillery to provide a unique home to craft our spirit. Nose: A whisper of limestone with touches of orange zest. Mellow and pretty straightforward with some additional floral notes, ginger, soft pepper and walnut cream.Taste: On the palate, the whisky reveals toffee apple richness and pecan pie with layers of cinnamon, vibrant vanilla, honey, cacao and hazelnut.
