About this deal

In terms of software, the Moto G8 Power Lite runs the slightly outdated Android 9, which means you’re missing out on the benefits Android 10 (which the G8 Power has) brings, like Dark Mode, Digital Wellbeing tools and Smart Replies. It’s not clear why Motorola opted for the outdated version of Android when the newer version is available, but we’d wager it’s another side-effect of the low price point.

It’s a good thing that you don’t have to charge your phone too often, as the actual charging process could be quite laborious. As mentioned, the G8 Power Lite has a rather old-school micro USB port, and one of the downsides of this is slower charging speeds. The G8 Power Lite powers up at a leisurely 10W, which is one of the slowest speeds we’ve seen, even at this price point. The Moto G8 Power Lite’s screen has a 20:9 aspect ratio, which means it’s relatively tall and thin compared to other devices. This contributes to the fact that, as mentioned it can be a little unwieldy in the hand, but it does mean you can see more content on-screen. Good points: its easy to use, switch it on and follow the helpful instructions/hints. No experience necessary- just like Apple used to be. Nice clean screen, small or large print

The aperture (f-stop number) indicates the size of the lens diaphragm opening, which controls the amount of light reaching the image sensor. The lower the f-stop number, the larger the diaphragm opening is, hence, the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-stop number specified is the one that corresponds to the maximum possible diaphragm opening. Silent: You won't hear a sound or feel a vibration. But the notification will show up when you swipe down from the top of your screen. So with that in mind, is it more prudent to go for this device rather than the G8 Power? Do you get all the benefits for a cheaper price? Or are there a few too many compromises? Read our review to find out. Motorola G8 Power Lite Design

Lenovo clearly cut some corners. The housing is made of plastic, Android 9 Pie is pretty outdated, charging goes via old-fashioned microUSB and the MediaTek Helio P35 is not known for its extremely powerful performance. Nevertheless, there are still enough positives to mention. The 4 GB RAM memory is pretty okey for this price point. A fingerprint scanner is always nice to have and a water-repellant coating gives you a little more peace of mind. W-CDMA (Wideband Code Division Multiple Access) is an air interface used by 3G mobile networks. It is one of the three different UMTS interfaces together with the TD-SCDMA and the TD-CDMA. The standard provides faster data transfer speeds and allows more users to connect to the network simultaneously. The Motorola Moto G8 Power Lite is an inexpensive phone for starters with a large battery and triple camera. The battery measures a large 5000 mAh which is enough to last 3 days. The Triple Camera consists of a primary, ultra-wide-angle and macro camera. But what else can it do? Name is unfortunate Still, this is the kind of display you’d expect to find on a phone at this price point, and it’s certainly not terrible. It’s bright, and while colors don’t exactly ‘pop’, they’re not too dark or grimy either. The display is LCD, which means it has a rather low contrast rate compared to the more common OLED screens, and this can be noticeable when you’re watching movies or playing games.Porter, Jon (8 November 2019). The instruction set architecture (ISA) is a set of commands used by the software to manage the CPU's work. Information about the set of instructions the processor can execute. The Motorola G8 Power Lite runs on a MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, which is a significant downgrade from the Motorola G8 Power’s Snapdragon 665. You can see that clearly just by glancing at the benchmark scores recorded below: Battery must be substantially depleted; charging rate slows as charging progresses. All battery life claims are approximate and based on the median user tested across a mixed use profile (which includes both usage and standby time) under optimal network conditions. Actual battery performance will vary and depends on many factors including signal strength, network and device settings, temperature, battery condition, and usage patterns The Moto G8 series is now penetrating. We already have a Moto G8 Plus, G8 Play and G8 Power. Striking about this is that the regular Moto G8 has yet to be officially announced. Space for a G8 Power Lite is hardly available and it is questionable whether there is actually a need for it. The Moto G8 Power will soon be on the counter for 229 euros, also has a 5000 mAh battery and is therefore already considered a very affordable midranger.

To stop certain notifications from an app, touch the app name, then turn notifications or off for each category. Overall, the design looks good and is functional – but we’d have strongly preferred a USB-C cable for greater compatibility and interchangeability with other devices. Motorola G8 Power Lite Screen If you’re familiar with the design of any of Motorola's G8 line of phones, you’ll know what the Moto G8 Power Lite looks like, as they’re all very similar looking, although the G8 Power Lite also borrows some design elements from the Moto G7 line. One of the main characteristics of the cameras is their image resolution. It states the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the image, which can also be shown in megapixels that indicate the approximate number of pixels in millions. When you receive unwanted notifications from an app, touch & hold the notification, then touch Turn off notifications.I absolutely love this phone. I have had Apple and Android phones in the past but there is just something loveable about the Moto G8. In terms of video recording, you can shoot in 1080p despite not being able to view it on the phone. There’s no option to change the frame rate, so we’d imagine it sits at a baseline 30fps, and you don’t get any of the various modes available on some other handsets, such as ‘short video’ or slow motion. The screen is one of the areas where the Moto G8 Power Lite gets a downgrade compared to other Moto G8 devices – with a 720 x 1600 resolution it’s rather low-res, and only HD, unlike most other smartphone displays which are FHD or above. On a more positive note, I was relatively impressed with portrait mode on the G8 Power Lite; the practical effect neatly cuts around the subject for the eye-popping bokeh effect. Pixels are usually measured in microns (μm). Larger ones are capable of recording more light, hence, will offer better low light shooting and wider dynamic range compared to the smaller pixels. On the other hand, smaller pixels allow for increasing the resolution while preserving the same sensor size.

Previously owned Moto mobile phones from when the range was first introduced. Never had any problems with their performance or quality. This one, although a "budget" device is no exception. In spite of a low end processor, it does operate very well. Bought as a second, reserve phone but depending on requirements there's no reason not to buy this as a main device. We keep repeating it; we always find the name 'Lite' somewhat unfortunate. And the addition of 'Power' only makes it more confusing. Because is it powerful or is it a lightweight? It's up to us to explain it properly. The name Power is a reference to the built-in MediaTek helio P35 processor. Altho it is a processor consisting of eight cores, it is not a very powerful chip. And with that, Motorola immediately undermines its own marketing storey. Because why 'powerful'? Of course everything is relative and you don't pay a lot for the G8 Power Lite, but call it G8 Lite. Long battery life The dimensions of 164.9 x 75.8 x 9.2mm tell you it’s pretty big, as they match those of some Plus-sized devices, and at 200g it weighs quite a bit for a budget phone (which are typically made of plastics and other lighter materials), though we’d assume a lot of that heft is thanks to the big battery. If a fairly basice smart phone is needed from a good manufacturer then don't hesitate at the current prices offered.
