Regular Cleaning: Dust mopping using the green Dust-Mop from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Damp mopping using diluted Osmo Wash and Care and the Micro-Mop plush from the Osmo Mop Cleaning Kit for Floors. Alternatively use the convenient Osmo Spray-Mop

Apply first coat thinly and evenly along the wood grain with an Osmo Floor Brush - use in conjunction with the Osmo Telescopic Handle for ease of application A base coat of Osmo Wood Protector 4006 is recommended for use in bathrooms or kitchens. Please be aware that Osmo Wood Protector 4006 may darken the wood very slightly.A trial application is highly recommended. So we asked the builder to stop staining while we re-evaluated. Also we asked him to experiment with sanding and wire-brushing to see how much could be undone. What’s the deal with clear? A clear product suggests it doesn’t change the colour of the wood, but it actually does. Clear Polyx Oil will bring out the natural tone and patina of the wood, enhancing the grain giving it will appear darker and what we call the “wet look”. The oil will reach full hardness after around 10 days to 2 weeks, time frame can depend on temperatures, and good air circulation will speed this up.Hi I’m Jay from Wood Finishes Direct, In this video I’m going to be highlighting the key things you should consider before starting your project with the One thing you need to remember when using Osmo oil is it doesn’t work too well over previously sealed timber. You can use it on bare timber, or you can use it over the top of itself. Avoid using it over anything that already has stain or varnish on it. For dark and extractive-rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended. Wood first treated with Osmo Wood Protector 4006 may appear a little more dark. Always trial apply Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw over the Wood Protector to ensure the final appearance meets with expectations. What I can tell you is that easy marking is a sign of over or under application of the oil, over application being the most common. Over application can be too much oil applied to the surface, or because the wood is a tight grained, hardwood, or because it has been over sanded and this has closed the grain.

Osmo Polyx Oil Raw retains the 'raw', light characteristics of untreated wood, meaning no more 'permanent wet look'. The ingredients use a small amount of white pigment to neutralise this darkening effect which generally occurs after application of a clear wood oil. The end result is a smooth beautiful finish with nearly-invisible protection. Keeps light interior woodwork and flooring looking light, ideal for Scandi-style interiors.

It seems there is a lot of confusion out there over the differences between all the Osmo products. I am asked all the time about how to choose which finish to use, and am constantly told the numbers just add to the confusion. And I totally get it. I felt the same way when first starting to use Osmo on my own projects. While I won’t be covering every single product Osmo makes, I can offer some guidance on the ones I do. I’ll try to make this as simple as possible. I would recommend taking a look at the Fiddes Hard Wax Oil Tints and the Blanchon Hard Wax Oil Tints as possible options to consider too. First Coat: Apply one thin coat with an Osmo Floor Brush or Osmo Floor Roller. Our rollers have a 4.5mm nap. Osmo Polyx® oils are developed from natural oils and waxes to help and provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden flooring and furniture.

A. Probably not because the small content of white pigment in this product tends to collect in the grooves and other rough areas of the wood to show through more. Osmo Polyx Oil Raw 3044. This will lessen the wet look on lighter timbers such as Oak or Pine. Raw gets mixed results on hardwoods especially darker hardwoods as it contains white pigment. If you are looking to change the colour of your wood then you can go across to theOne of the key benefits of Polyx-Oil Effect is its exceptional durability. It is scratch and scuff resistant, making it perfect for high traffic areas in your home. It is also water and dirt repellent, making it easy to clean and maintain. Osmo Polyx-Oil 3051 Raw is designed to retain an untreated appearance on light coloured woods such as Oak, Ash, Birch and Maple. Neutralises the permanent ‘wet-look’ that develops after the application of a clear oil-based finish and keeps the wood looking raw and untreated. Clear oils can darken the appearance of the wood. To retain the light character of oak please use Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw. The original clear hard wax oil designed for most wooden floors & surfaces. Available in Satin, Matt, Semi-Matt and Glossy

Two coats can be applied on wooden furniture, doors and joinery, but only one coat is recommended on wooden flooring – a clear top coat of Osmo Polyx®-Oil is required (approx. 24hrs after the first coat). For cork surfaces, due to their high absorbency please ensure that the wood finish is applied especially thinly. Free sachet delivery is available on all Rust-Oleum sachets. These are shipped direct from the manufacturer using Whistl. Can take 5-10 working days. Oils need to penetrate the surface of the wood, once the wood is saturated and will not accept any more, excess oil drys on the surface and this is what marks easily. It is not only the type of wood that can effect this, also the method of application. Rollers application, for example, will apply more per area than cloth application, and so may not be ideal for hardwoods. Available in wood tone colours, perfect as a base coat or can be intermixed to create different shades

Regardless of the size of the project, I always prefer to get up close and personal with the Raw, using my favourite applicator the Osmo Soft Tip Brush, I like to go with a 2 inch for smaller projects but I use the beefy 4 inch for floors or large areas. Its high quality synthetic mix of bristles is great at limiting over application. For extractive rich hardwoods (e.g. Wenge, Merbau, Jatoba etc.), we recommend using Osmo Wood Wax Finish Clear Extra Thin. A trial application is recommended. Based on renewable raw materials – soybean, sunflower, thistle oil, and carnauba and candelilla wax
