About this deal

Whilst this cake mix playdough is totally taste safe, even edible, I wouldn't recommend actually encouraging your toddler to eat it! We have called it edible taste safe playdough as it is safe if your toddler or preschooler accidently put it in their mouth as all the ingredients needed for this playdough recipe are edible ingredients. For this reason you don't need to worry if your child takes a sneaky bite like you would with shop bought playdough. You could also roll out a long piece of playdough and spiral it on top of a playdough cupcake. Is it just us (and oursweet tooth) or does this look delicious?! Playdough is one of our favorite activities and with a birthday coming up, we thought what better way to celebrate than with playdough cupcakes with candles on top! Read on to see how we put it all together! We like to place everything on the table and let the little ones decorate and play as they wish. You can direct them if you’d like but more times than not, they enjoy the time to have open-ended play. And of course we enjoy the playtime too! Ours like to layer their cupcakes and decorate them with beads and gems. All you need is a clean, recycled cupcake container and a few containers of play dough to make a batch of the best fine motor tools around. We love using our crayon play dough recipe to make colorful batches of play dough, but you can use any type of store-bought or homemade playdough.

A stable and strong wrist is a powerful way to improve endurance in the hand during functional tasks. How to Make Play Dough Cupcakes LOTS OF CREATIVE WAYS TO DECORATE: Top creations with make-believe frosting and sprinkles using the extruder tool or the spatula tool, and make fun Play-Doh candy, decorations, and toppings using the half-molds on the side of the toy mixerOne of the benefits of playing with play dough is the creativity that the material inspires. Playing with playdough is a great way to inspire fine motor STEM while building strength in the hands:

Use small pieces of play dough to form imaginary decorations: sprinkles, icing, cherry, birthday candles, etc.The fact that this cake mix playdough is edible means that you have the added bonus of not having to worry about small children putting the playdough into their mouths. If they take a sneaky bite it doesn't matter! I wouldn't actually encourage children to eat the playdough, it's just safe if they do! If you keep all the items you are adding to the playdough edible too the whole activity will be taste safe for young children. EASY-TO-USE MAGICAL MIXER MECHANISM: Kids can attach 1 of the 2 trays to the bowl, fill each mold with Play-Doh modeling compound, and pull the handle to stamp 2 pretend treats at a time!

Best of all, with different colors of dough, you can mix and match the cupcakes while building skills. Color matching with play dough is a fun way for preschoolers and toddlers to learn colors and so much more. Why make Playdough Cupcakes? Pull palm-sized balls of playdough from the container- this is a great way to improve intrinsic hand strength. There are so many ways that you can play with your cake mix playdough. It would be fun to give your toddler or preschooler the cake mix playdough alongside sprinkles, cupcake cases, muffin tins, birthday candles etc so they can make their own bakery or cake shop. You could add some little plates and a tea set too! They had fun placing them in their muffin match up panstoo and putting them in their play kitchen oven to bake.
