With OxiClean stain remover, the length of time you let the product sit can make a big difference. The longer you let the product set, the more it removes the stain. A heads-up that applying the cleaner to the stain takes some effort, because you have to mix the powder in a spray bottle and the process can get messy. You can also use it when pre-soaking laundry, though, and overall it was relatively easy to use.

When to Clean the Deck

Remove food, oil, and grease stains as soon as you spot them. That way, stains won’t form, to begin with. But, if you wait too long, you’ll have to put in some work to remove the stain.

After rinsing ALWAYS neutralise surface with Net-trol except where Tropitech is the chosen finish (see “After stripping/cleaning”). Do not use a wire brush to scrub the surface. After an appropriate time, test a small area with nylon scrubbing brush to see if finish or dirt is lifting. If you want a simple and effective way to remove stains, a wood stain remover is the way to go. There are other methods for removing stain but none are as easy as using a wood stain remover. Give it a good scrub with a stiff brush. Scrub along the grooves and also across them to help loosen the old coating. Pour on some water and keep scrubbing. This will help lift the finish completely off. You have to remember to wear your gloves before handling this chemical product. However, it is good enough you are working on an outdoor project.
