About this deal

Tornado - 24 Inch High Velocity Metal Industrial Workstation Wall Mount Fan - For Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Greenhouse Use - TEAO Motor - 3 Speed - 7700 CFM – 1/5 HP – 6.6 FT Cord - UL Safety Listed Energy efficiency - AC require a significant amount of electricity to run, especially in hot climates and larger houses. Fans consume much less energy. Fans are used for circulating air, this allows your sweat to evaporate faster and leaves you feeling cooler. Although an electric fan doesn't technically cool the air, you'll feel cooler as a result! The con of bladeless fans is they tend to be much more expensive owing to the technology. If you can afford it, bladeless fans take the edge for us, but a regular blade fan is perfectly adequate.

It’s no exaggeration to say that this is the king of pedestal fans. The first thing I notice (after how easy it is to assemble) is that it has both horizontal and vertical oscillation which, coupled with a powerful airflow of 1,653m³ph gives it unrivalled room-cooling capabilities. However it feels natural, like a gentle breeze. This TurboForce Power Fan weighs just over a kilogram and is small enough to sit on a window ledge, on your bedside table or bring into the office for your desk. It even comes with a wall mount, if you’d prefer it on a wall. For a small fan, the TurboForce is relatively powerful and has a 90 degree oscillating head. Yes, desk fans are generally the cheapest and lowest-powered but are usually the best choice at close range. (There are also handheld fans, handy in a sweltering tube train, but so low-powered that we don’t review them here.)

What stands out

Validity : Extended Warranty will start after the Brand warranty ends & continues for 1 or 2 years as per plan. Plans valid only for products with a maximum of 2 years brand warranty. Products with more than 2 years brand warranty are not eligible What's covered : The plan covers all defects & electric malfunctions as covered under the original Brand warranty. Finally, floor fans, which tend to be larger and so can cool a larger room - you might find them in gyms or conference centres. There are also air coolers, which use water evaporation to chill the air a bit, but we cover those in a separate feature. What is the quietest fan for sleeping? Cooling effectiveness - air conditioning lowers the temperature of a room, making it effective at keeping large spaces cool, at a consistent rate. Fans don't actually reduce temperatures but create a cooling sensation by circulating air around, making them better suited for personal use. As soon as the temperature breaches 20 degrees in the UK, everyone goes looking for the best fan to cool their bedroom or workspace. Compared to air conditioning, electric fans are cheaper, smaller, lighter, more energy efficient (most costing around 1p an hour to run) and have an instant cooling effect on sweaty skin.

Secondly, look for a quiet fan: generally they range between 20dB at low fan speeds to 70dB at high speed. 20dB is about the same as a human whisper, 70dB is loud enough to hear over the chatter in an office. It has an easy-to-use sleep timer and an ‘Auto’ mode that adjusts the fan speed according to the temperature. However, the reason I loved it is that you genuinely want to have on display. Let’s face it, fans aren’t always stylish, but the Dyson’s bladeless loop is a thing of beauty. Other details are also well thought out, right down to the compact remote that can be stored magnetically on top of the fan.Desk fans are compact and portable, designed to be placed on a desk or bedside table. Desk fans are great for personal cooling in small spaces, providing a direct and focused breeze. They are also relatively quiet and energy-efficient. Finally, if we’re honest, not many fans look nice. If you’re buying one for your home, consider biting the bullet price-wise and investing in a futuristic, bladeless Dyson or an unobtrusive tower fan. The best thing about this fan is that instead of taking batteries, it recharges via a USB lead. The charge last around seven hours on average, depending on what mode you use most. Recharging takes five.

Pedestal fans are larger and sit on a stand, hence they are also known as stand fans. They are height-adjustable with a rotating head, while oscillating functions distribute air over a larger space. Pedestal fans are versatile, being suitable for both personal use and larger rooms. Stand fans are usually higher spec, with additional features like remote controls and adjustable speed settings. The Dyson makes my living room feel degrees cooler in an instant by projecting over 290 litres of air a second. I can really feel the difference compared with less powerful devices. The bladeless Air Multiplier concept has undergone a bit of a redesign, with a slightly slower motor that makes less noise and a ‘Helmholtz cavity’ (good old Helmholtz, eh) to dampen the sound even further. This means that even the higher fan speeds are now quiet enough to use while concentrating on work or drifting off to sleep. On the very highest of the 10 settings there is still some noise, as with all the fans we tried, but that is what earplugs are for. Noise levels - fans are usually quieter compared to air cons, however, quiet air conditioning units are readily available. Tower fans are tall and slim, with a vertical, sleek design that takes up less floor space. With widespread airflow, tower fans are great for larger rooms. They often come with multiple speed settings, oscillation functions, and additional features like timers, air purification filters and bladeless designs which are safe kids and pets. It’s also very quiet on its lowest settings, with a whispery minimum noise level of 20db and a maximum of 60db (roughly equivalent to the noise from a dishwasher). It has an ‘eco’ mode that adjusts the speed of the fan based on the temperature of the room, a ‘natural’ mode that replicates a breeze, plus a sleep timer, night light and a handy magnetic remote. When considering how best to keep cool, keep in mind your room size, climate and personal preferences. There are a number of advantages to both fans and air conditioners: Floor fans are similar to pedestal fans but without the adjustable stand. Simply place them on the floor for powerful airflow at a lower height. Floor fans are often used in garages, workshops, or larger areas that require heavy-duty cooling. They are larger and more robust compared to desk, pedestal or tower fans.
