About this deal

These replacement forms are miserable and sullen to the point of aggression, lurching after those who ruined their day to stab and throttle until they kill those with the temerity to have killed them first. Should a Blue Horror be killed before it can get its revenge, it will divide once more into two tiny Brimstone Horrors, blazing yellow manifestations of pure spite and bitterness that seek only to burn their enemies to scattering ash. Plaguebearers return almost unchanged, losing 1 AP on their Plagueswords in exchange for letting you retain control of objective markers after they walk off of them. Using a medium-sized brush, apply the base colors to each part of the miniatures. For example, you can use a bright blue like Caledor Sky for the blue Horrors and a vibrant red like Mephiston Red for the red Horrors. Apply the paint evenly, covering the entire area, and let it dry before moving on to the next step. Painting the Blue Horrors and Brimstone Horrors was really fun. I airbrushed the Blue Horrors with Temple Guard Blue and gave them a wash of Druchii Violet, this purple shade makes them pop and the blue highlights really stand out. Another nice touch I liked was painting the tongues as fire to represent a Brimstone Horror trying to get out. Overall, I’m extremely happy with how the unit came out.

Huddle close to enemy vehicles that I intend to destroy, hoping that they will explode if I do so. Assaulting vehicles with the Horrors puts them in perfect position. Blast weapons represent a huge problem for horde strategies in 9th edition, giving said weapons a minimum of 3 shots against units of 6-10 models and maximum shots against units of 11+ models. This is a real issue for large units of Daemon Troops, where having 20+ models is where you start to get good bonuses. The net impact is that you’ll need a way to protect daemons more from being shot and you’ll likely want to take a harder look at Daemons units that don’t come in massive blobs. Vehicles, Monsters, and ShootingUsing a wash such as Drakenhof Nightshade for the blue Horrors and Carroburg Crimson for the red Horrors, apply it to the recesses and crevices of the miniatures. This adds depth and shadows to their features. Let the wash dry completely. Mechanically in tabletop it implied pink horrors could function as low level wizards who once split into blue horrors shifted roles into a more poor melee fodder role. Though in 8th edition blue horrors as models themselves were nixed on the table and restricted down to a rule using markers of a sort. Chaos Cultists • Poxwalkers • Pestigor • Plague Zombies • Plague Ogryn • Thrall Wizard • Tzaangor • Tzaangor Enlightened • Tzaangor Shaman • Dark Disciple

With six cults to choose from, each with their own ability, command ability, command trait and artefact of power, you’ll be able to add more variety to your Tzeentch armies than ever before. Big Warscroll Changes The Keeper of Secrets’ datasheet got updated again, returning the unit to its rightful 14″ Movement. To more simply clarify, as I can be wordy and not always explain things well, pink horrors are stronger and "better"(but still terrible for melee combat) and also can also cast spells but blue horrors are numerous. Lord of Change • Herald of Tzeentch ( Changecaster • Fateskimmer • Fluxmaster) • Daemon Prince of Tzeentch • Disc of Tzeentch • Flamer • Horror • Screamer • Burning Chariot of Tzeentch Daemon Prince • Familiar • Fury • Khornate ( Bloodletter • Bloodthirster) • Nurglite ( Great Unclean One • Nurgling • Plaguebearer) • Slaaneshi ( Daemonette • Keeper of Secrets) • Soul Grinder • Tzeentchian ( Gaunt Summoner • Horror of Tzeentch • Lord of Change) • Verminlord

How I’m Gonna Do It

You would have to move your locus Herald from the pinks to the blues to get that many brimstones, which is probably not gonna happen in practice... But still... So no fun. Charge rolls have been buffed across the board. There are a ton of charge rerolls or +1” to charge modifiers in this codex. You’ll have lots of very reliable 6” or 5” rerolling charges out of deepstrike. Deepstriking closer now relies on the Shadow Of Chaos, not Leadership. This also means we don’t get to deepstrike 3” away from enemies while in our own deployment zone. Deepstriking 6” away from enemies in our deployment zone is still pretty cool, however.
