About this deal

Thrumming with Life (Quad, all Revenant Seekers and Spiterider Lancers): After taking down an enemy heal up to 10 wounds. This kit comprises 42 plastic components, and is supplied with 5x Citadel 32mm Round Bases. These miniatures are supplied unpainted and requires assembly – we recommend using Citadel Plastic Glue and Citadel paints. If there is an objective undefended, they are carrying a treasure, or they are the target of an enemy action, they can just disappear and reappear on the other side of the board. Tips on painting a Sylvaneth Warband for Warcry What changed in the new edition for the Sylvaneth Warband? All of them can be used for the final spite to the enemy: their reaction allows to damage the enemy if they succeed to hit their adversary. This is perfect for this cheap infantry that can do more damage before dying than they would have had during their normal action.

Blessing of the Forest (Triple, Branchwraith): Heal D3 damage to all friendly fighters within 6″ (roll individually). The recent Sylvaneth release added several new units to the woodland warriors, including bug-mounted Spiterider Lancers and the terrifyingly tentacled Lady of Vines . Veteran Sylvaneth commander – and expert painter – Andy Wardle grabbed all these new additions for his army, and wanted to show them off to the world. SET-UP : After territories are determined, you can set up this faction terrain feature wholly within your territory and more than 3" from all objectives and other terrain features. If both players can set up faction terrain features at the same time, they must roll off and the winner chooses who sets up their faction terrain features first. Envoy of the Everqueen (Quad, all Leaders): Add up to +3 to the Toughness and Strength of friendly fighters within 6”.

Lizzie: What a name! Perfect on Daemonettes and other Daemons of Slaanesh – you can apply this over a light skin tone to create gaunt and sunken flesh. It’s also fun to use over metallics to create a really unique tone. Several types of goods are exempt from being returned. Perishable goods such as newspapers or magazines cannot be returned. We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

At the recent Warhammerfest Preview we got to see the new battletomes on the horizon: Skaven and Sylvaneth, along with a new character for Skaven and a Hero and 3 new units for Sylvaneth. What was not announced was the box Echoes of Doom which would introduce some of these, along with updated warscrolls, but that came shortly after. In June, we invited Warhammer TV painting presenter Emma Robinson to talk about her favourite colours and some inspired uses for them. Today we’ve got her co-host, Lizzie Ward, to talk about her 10 favourite paints from the new range and how she has been using them. If you're looking to start either a Sylvaneth or a Skaven army, this box is a no-brainer. It's also extremely valuable for those looking to round out either force, as the models included in here aren't just throwaways (okay, the Clanrats are technically, in terms of lore, throwaways, but they're supposed to be, that's how they're treated by their own Skaven comrades). If you're not interested in either of these two armies, then there are other box sets (like Arena of Shades, which we recently covered) which may better hold your interest. It’s not entirely clear at this point how the priest thing works, since at the list building phase it counts as a Wizard you don’t get to memorize any spells, and the 2 generic prayers – Smite and Bless – aren’t very good and probably aren’t worth using over any spells you’d have access to. It’s possible the upcoming book will give some answers. To resume, a Forest Stalker warband has few options for leaders, like an Arch-Revenant or an Huntmaster, a choice between a Kurnoth armed with Greatbow and one with Scythe (one of them could be the leader) or the Revenant Seekers, and a group of Dryads, Tree-Revenants and Spite-Revenants depending on personal preference. Of those, the Kurnoth Hunters are possessed with brutal strength and agility and they are equally proficient with blades, scythes, or bows. Lizzie: A firm favourite of mine, this is great for creating ghostly skin. This looks great over a White Scar undercoat to make your Nighthaunt suitably spooky! He took a 50 point price hike for this and honestly? Probably still worth it. Kurnoth Hunters with Bows Take d3 Mortal Wounds. This is what I mean from it being more random, as this went from being something with a 1 in 36 chance of happening to 1 in 6. Good thing it’s got 15 wounds now while retaining it’s 5+ ward.

Where they really will come in to their own is as a screen. After performing Unleash Hell they can immediately retreat on a 2+. With their 12″ movement this grants a lot of flexibility. They’ll be basically impossible to charge reliably for many opponents, who will be left holding the bag as their troops sit in the middle of the field with nothing to hit, and you follow up with your own charge next turn. 215 isnt a bad price for them either, their role is just exceedingly specific and niche. The Spirit of Durthu I spent most of my time painting the focal areas, such as the face and gold. To balance out this time investment, I painted other areas, such as the wood, very simply, with just one or two fast highlights. to hit for all enemy units within 13″. The scaling with damage Peal of Doom range is gone, replaced with a flat number so this is at least more predictable. A key wording choice here is that it can’t overlap with another Screaming Bell, if you were to run 2. Lizzie: A bold and brash paint with subtle darker tones, this is really versatile. Of course, it’s ideal for those Aeldari Striking Scorpions, but it’s brilliant for glazing onto eye lenses and gemstones to create glowing effects. Honestly everything here is… pretty good. This is an interesting box because both armies are considered near the bottom of the tier list and few debate that they needed the update. The battletome will likely be necessary to see how it all comes together but everything here is either an upgrade or at least an interesting side grade. If this box is a sign of things to come I think players will be very happy.

Clanrats

Finally, the Spite-Revenants are part of the Outcasts, a darker reflection of their kin, unable to hear the spirit-song, the way to communicate used by the Sylvaneth, unless when it is a call for war. Sitting next to Volupus Pink, but even richer, this colour comes close to the intensity of Screamer Pink, but with the unique flow of contrast. We love gorgeously painted models, so we weren’t going to argue. Here’s Andy to talk about his collection. Thanks to Andy for sharing this stunning collection! If you’ve been inspired to paint your own arboreal army, you can get both the Gossamid Archers and the Lady of Vines – alongside a trio of Kurnoth Hunters and a mighty Treelord – in the Echoes of Doom battlebox. I started this army in 2019, and the latest additions have really refreshed my love for the faction. I think the Gossamid Archers are my favourite unit now – the models are such a showcase of modern miniature design. They’re incredibly dynamic, and even the height of their bases gives them added presence to the battlefield.
