About this deal

The KMC X11EL 11-speed road and mountain bike chain can be used with Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo gear groups. It comes with a missing link for easy mounting and dismounting. The chain is difficult to mount without a special tool. A chain whip works, but is difficult to master, and has too open of a profile, allowing chains to slip off easily. I would recommend the KMC 11 speed chain to anyone looking for a great shifting chain. It’s durable, and once broken in after about 100 miles, it shifts as smoothly as any chain I’ve ever used. It looks great, too.

Chain reaction Cycles and CRC are trading names of Wiggle Ltd (In Administration) registered in the United Kingdom at 1000 Lakeside, Suite 310, Third Floor N E Wing, Portsmouth, Hampshire, PO6 3EN, I would definitely recommend it to anyone, especially if you are running a trendy 1x setup! KMC 11 Speed Chain Review:

Taya Onze-111 (UL) 11-speed chain

In use, this chain shifts smoothly and runs just as it should. There's not a lot else to say on that front: it just gets on with it. You only really notice a chain when it doesn't do those things. Where this chain does score is in its durability. Three months down the line it hasn't stretched at all and the titanium nitride coating is still looking good. There's some wear, as you'd expect, but I'd say that coating is doing its job well. I love it. The shifting is way better than with my worn out Shimano 9 speed chain, the only downside is that I have to replace the pulleys before the chain, the chain seems to get the wear on the pulleys. I always thought I needed to replace my chain before my cassette, but that is no longer the case. KMC X11EL Extra Light Chain The quality of the X-Series - paired with lightweight components. Slotted inner and outer plates, without compromising the smoothness and durability. With a great shifting performance, it's lightweight and smooth running. KMC now guarantees your satisfaction on the chain's life, which is much longer, compared to other major brands. A word of wisdom: Don’t use this chain with anything less than 12 gears. I used it with a 10 speed setup for a short time, and it worked great, but I could tell it wasn’t happy. I would recommend this chain to others.

The KMC X11EL chain is a highly durable and smooth-running chain for road and mountain bikes. It brings low weight and extreme durability together. It is available in a silver and a golden colour to make your bike look so much nicer! On the part-worn drivetrain we fitted it to our first impression was that it was a tiny bit noisier than the chain it replaced, but that may have just been because the lube needed to distribute a little, as it soon sounded entirely normal, and shifting was as good as ever.

Customer Reviews

The KMC X-Series has been designed with the specific characteristics of the Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo systems in mind and will meet the most demanding requirements. Elaborately designed and manufactured, the X-Bridge technology, thanks to precisely chamfered plates, allows a smooth propulsion and perfect gear changes in all driving situations.

Good chain. I have always been a big fan of KMC chains. This one works well on my 11spd campy set. Quality is still there and shifting is quiet and crisp. KMC 11 Speed Chain Review: Featuring precision engineering, the KMC X11EL Extra Light Chain is designed to meet the highest standards for Shimano, SRAM and Campagnolo systems. Its dynamic chamfering ensures seamless shifting and a smooth transmission. The outer plates are narrower, allowing for more chainring space. A single ring setup would take up very little space. The quality of the X-Series - paired with lightweight components. Slotted inner and outer plates, without compromising the smoothness and durability. Part of the appeal of KMC’s own chains is that they use so-called Missing Links (i.e. a master or joining link), so there’s no faffing around with special pins and, if you’re comparing to Campagnolo, no need to shell out for special tools. You simply shorten your chain in the usual way, fit the Missing Link together and then snap it shut — job’s a good un. I have had the opportunity to use the KMC 11 speed chain for well over 2000 miles. This has been a great opportunity to try it out in a variety of different conditions, from a hot summer day in the grueling mountain bike race at Wildflower, to fast criterium on a cold, rainy day in Bend Oregon. The outer links are much skinnier than a typical chain, and link plates are more likely to become scratched and thereby weaker. The only minor gripe I have is that even though it seems to be made of high quality materials that should hold up for a long long time (which I believe it will), I may feel more comfortable upgrading my chain to a SRAM or Shimano chain in a year or two to preserve the life of my other components.
