Absolutely – well mostly. You can use it with acrylic paint, and I highly recommend FolkArt Acrylic Paint as my brand of choice. These days I’m loving their multi-surface formula. I do not recommend using Mod Podge with latex paint. If a few drops of water end up on your Mod Podge project you can wipe them away with ease. You aren’t going to ruin your craft with just a little bit of water. You can learn more about Mod Podge Outdoor here.As I mention in that article, Mod Podge Outdoor is not water proof. It is HIGHLY water resistant (more so than regular Podge). Honestly this is why I mostly use fabric on pots, because it doesn’t ruin like paper. If you do want to use paper on your pot, I highly recommend coating the inside with these instructions. This version of Mod Podge is highly durable, and perfect for using with mugs or placemats or something that will be exposed to water but not for a long period of time.

This formulation can be used to create appliques and decals using any of your original photos and is also able to transfer images onto wood or fabric. It may take some time for you to master the use of this mod podge, but once you have, the sky is the limit to what you can transfer. You can put Mod Podge on the top of a plate, but you’ll need to put a clear glass plate over that before putting your food down. I’ve heard you can make your own Mod Podge. Is this true? Gloss Finish. Use on surfaces intended for use in sheltered outdoor environments. NOT WATERPROOF" When you get to the end you will find out it takes 4 weeks to cure.All the conventional resins leave you with a hard, varnish-type finish, which is also very toxic and needs to be mixed before being used. However, this formulation gives you the same epoxy-like finish, and once dry it is clear, it is ideal for those paper and jewelry projects. The dimensional magic mod podge can be applied in layers, but each layer needs to dry properly before applying the next layer. This formulation is produced in glitter as well as a clear finish.
