About this deal

You’ll only see software stabilization when shooting at a 30fps frame rate. There’s a 60fps mode, but this appears to be completely unstabilized, which is doubly disappointing when the phone has OIS. It doesn’t appear to be used at all in photo capture. Both are at least slightly more expensive, but are alternatives to consider if you’re keen on having a phone that can take good pictures at night.

The Moto G62 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 Plus processor – a tweaked version of the original Snapdragon 480 from early 2021. Its aims are largely the same as the phone’s, to deliver 5G on a budget. However, on occasion, its photos are more instantly charming than those of the main camera, thanks to their richer colors. If the Moto G62 were made of glass and metal, it would seem right at home next to phones twice the price. But like almost every phone in this family since 2019's Moto G7, the Moto G62’s shell is almost entirely plastic. The dual GPS is welcome, but it easily loses satellites on cloudy days (and we are in the middle of a 100-year rain bomb). NFC supports Google Pay. Phone – dual sim, dual ringtone, and solid signal strength Note that Telco-supplied models have a single SIM and dedicated microSD. Retail models have dual hybrid SIM and microSD. Deep-Dive review formatIt is a relatively bright and colourful 1080p FHD+ with a choice of Auto/60/120Hz. Our test software also reveals a 90Hz setting. It swaps between 60 and 120Hz, and the latter takes about a 20% toll on battery life. Leave it on 60Hz.

The Adreno 619 GPU maxes out at 40fps for most games – not for gamers! Overall, it is pretty smooth. We also found the color temperature a little cool at the default setting. This is common, since a cooler tone can make a screen seem brighter and punchier. However, the Moto G82 looks better once it’s been tweaked slightly. The camera setup and large 5,000 mAh battery is shared across half a dozen Moto G phones, from the lowly G32 all the way to the G82. This leaves the screen as the other major difference, alongside the chipset. And the Moto G62 gets a 6.5" IPS LCD panel of buttery smooth 120Hz refresh rate. Motorola Moto G62 5G specs at a glance: The Motorola Moto G82 runs Android 12 and uses the classic Moto interface. This makes fairly light changes to the Google blueprint, meaning you get to see the changes made to Android’s Material Design style in version 12.
