About this deal

Only the EN-EL15c and EN-EL15b batteries can be charged via USB. The older EN-EL15a and original EN-EL15 batteries cannot be charged via USB. Both the new NIKKOR Z DX lenses unleash the potential of the Nikon Z mount, using the superior design flexibility made possible by the large-diameter and the 16mm flange focal distance to deliver outstanding optical performance and sharpness in a deceptively compact form factor. But the confusing question may be: What device(s) can I use to charge my camera’s battery while it’s in-camera? I rarely change aperture or shutter speed directly, and always change Auto ISO Minimum Shutter speed depending on my subject.

U1 and U2 modes do not recall your preferences for Image Area (square or 16:9 cropping) or Image Review. Related Reading: Nikon Z7 Full-Frame Mirrorless Camera Review] Price and Availability of the 58mm f/0.95 Noct & MB-N10 Battery GripI leave everything set to automatic, which gets me the sharpest pictures the fastest. The key is I set my camera very carefully in advance to have it make all my settings exactly as I would do manually, and then know what to force to manual if and only if I need to. The ISO range in Silent is limited to ISO 51,200 maximum. There's no limit to the minimum, shoot at ISO 100 if you like, but for ISO 102,400 (Hi1.0) or 204,800 (Hi2.0) you'll have to use the regular shutter. The Z50 is the world's best APS-C mirrorless because it's a joy to carry, set up and shoot, with superior ergonomics to Sony or Fuji or the Z7 or Z6, and makes far better pictures than Sony or Fuji due to due to the Z50's superior color rendition. Canon's EOS-M have equally great color rendition, but I haven't used them recently to compare, and their ergonomics didn't wow me as much as does the Z50 or Canon's full-frame DSLRs do.

You can update any of these modes by changing anything you like about them, then saving the result at MENU > SETUP MENU (wrench icon) > Save user settings > Save to U1 or U2 > Save Settings. Set your camera the way I do and you'll always get the sharpest pictures. 99% of the time when people ask me to diagnose their soft pictures it's because they set their camera manually — and set it wrong. Amateurs too often use too high an ISO, too high a shutter speed and too small a lens aperture, all three of which lead to softer pictures:The sensor that’s located directly behind the large Z-mount is closely related to the 20.9-million-pixel APS-C CMOS chip that’s been used before in the Nikon D500 and D7500. It has a low pass filter and teams up with an EXPEED 6 image processor that sees it shoot across a broad sensitivity range of ISO 100-51,200 (expandable to ISO 204,800). No marked focus mode switch (AF-S / AF-C / MF); instead you program an Fn button to do this. This is better than Nikon's older AF mode switches because the Fn buttons are easy to reach right next to the lens and they press straight into the camera; the old-style buttons were on the bottom of the lens and had to be pressed sideways! MOV or .MP4 files holding H.264/MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding video and LPCM or AAC-coded audio data. In addition to the regular mechanical and silent electronic shutter options there is a third "Electronic First Curtain" option at MENU > CUSTOM SETTING MENU (pencil icon) > dShooting/display > d4 Shutter type.
