PORON® Urethanes are patented open cell, breathable materials. The open cells act like tiny springs absorbing impact and providing cushioning to the body. PORON® Urethanes are designed to maintain their memory and continue to return to their original shape. The materials are resistant to moisture and other environmental conditions offering continued cushioning comfort in footwear, orthotic appliances, apparel and other applications. You can swap any of the foams in and out as you please to achieve the kind of sound profile you like. I usually do not touch the PCB foam and the switch pad as they have the most prominent effect on the sound, but I did try removing the bottom case foam and didn’t notice much difference except that it introduced a tad bit more bounce to the typing. PORON Market Prefix – the family of products, for industrial grades the market prefix is usually 4701 or 4790. PORON 4701-30 isn’t well-suited for environments with frequent temperature fluctuations. It’s also not a very dense PORON foam, so it can’t be used in the heaviest-duty applications. For example, this PORON foam is not suited for dampening industrial noise, but it is an effective tool to dampen automotive noise. RECOMMENDED USESS The high- resistance material, while similar to the Standard Series, is equivalent in softness to the SR-S grade. Its features excellent temperature dependence PORON® Urethane is an industrial polyurethane foam that is known for its compression set resistance. Its open cell or semi closed cell design ensures that it keeps its shape, softness, flexibility and cushioning throughout its lifetime, even through multiple impacts. After poron is subjected to pressure, it will expand to return to its original size and shape, or at least until it meets a new pressure or impact. As a result, it can be an extremely dependable material for use in a wide range of applications across many industries.
