About this deal

As many of you know from the Nuremberg Show thread, one of the new releases is the DT-03T Aqroshot - a typical Tamiya parts bin offering consisting of the chassis from a Neo Fighter, the shell from a Super Levant, the wheels from a Stadium Blitzer and tyres from a Street Rover. I've been putting this off for awhile but as it's not getting any use these days my Aqroshot is now up for sale. Some suggested Hop Ups... (note that this kit already comes with the Torque tuned motor and CVA's) I have bearings and the ball diff to go in also. Required for completion: 2 Channel Radio System, A Servo, Battery and Charger, Polycarbonate Paint for the Body, Tools for assembly & Tyre Glue for the Tyres.

Special feature 1: The DT-03T is based upon the DT-03, and inherits its hassle-free assembly, durability and effortless drive. The DT-03T is based upon the DT-03, and inherits its hassle-free assembly, durability and effortless drive. The front stays are affixed to the chassis with 4 screws. One of the screws is a 15mm where the other 3 are 12mm. I don't know why this is the case but I think it is a detail that is easily missed. The Tamiya R/C Aqroshot - DT-03T Model Kit is the first kit to be released with the new DT-03T chassis and is the latest addition to the Tamiya range of radio controlled off road vehicles. Ive really been struggling with a price as it's got more than it's original value in upgrades, spares etc.

That doesn't mean it won't still work. Wheel and tire choice for dt03 is something I've been googling around for a couple weeks in anticipation of my build. I'll definitely be trying wheels off my Lunchbox to see if they fit. I've just managed to cram the receiver into the receiver box that comes with the chassis...it's not waterproof but should protect it somewhat. Might put some foam lining on the inside of it to afford some more protection. Admittedly no. I was under the impression that the Dt01 chassis was closer in design to the 02/03 since the 02/03 are very similar. ESC: This is the connection between the radio system and the motor. You have several choices. The standard Tamiya unit is currently unavailable due to the chip shortage, so Tamiya are offering a choice of a Tamiya Hobbywing or Carson Dragster (Tamiya Germany) units. Where a model number is shown (e.g. 20 or 15) that is the motor capacity of the unit - the lower the number, the more powerful a motor you can install later. All work with the motor in the kit.

It is also possible to fit the smaller front wheels with Dirt Hag I tires, but those have a smaller radius so that's a personal choice.

edit: oh, and Munchbox, your 'use a DT-03 suggestion' sounds very interesting. Do you know if anyone has ever tried it? I googled a bit but couldn't see anything. If you want to go brushless, you'll want a better connector than the Tamiya one, so even if your ESC comes with one fitted, you'd be best off getting rid and soldering on a proper one that can handle the current. I prefer Deans, XT60s are also preferred by many. I've fitted the plastic driveshafts for the moment even though they don't engage just to prevent me from losing anything! Once again, rubber shielded bearing to the wheel axles...note also the waterproof esc switch cover which is a nice touch, somewhat lost if I end up fitting a different esc later! Steering – Steering is fairly straightforward with a direct drive steering servo and adjustable tie rods for adjusting camber. Fixed uprights don’t allow for caster adjustment but the geometry out of the box is good and should give good performance in most driving conditions. Anyway, long ramble to get to the question: what are your opinions of the Mad Bull? Would be interested to hear people's views and experiences.
