About this deal

Tremors (99% improvement): I have not caught myself rolling my fingers, but tremor is not nonexistent. I’ve just worked up over 5 weeks to 50mgs of allithiamine and am really struggling. Sleep disturbed again, leg/nerve pain increasing, digestion off and my heart rate was so high on a little walk today I nearly passed out. Is this paradox? I’m very concerned about the level of potassium I need and would really appreciate your words of wisdom/advice as I feel in a real mess with my health and am having a repeat ECG on Monday I just hope my t wave is normal again. I’ve not been able to work since March and feel quite desperate.

I researched online and believe God led me to several medical articles stating that Thiamine deficiency during the refeeding phase could cause renal tubular dysfunction resulting in electrolyte losses via the kidneys. So electrolyte values during the refeeding phase after fasting could be Refeeding Syndrome’s intracellular losses -OR- urinary losses from Thiamine Deficiency. Day 10 and 2 days of no TTFD, 5/25 4:00am: I did not take a dose of TTFD yesterday with my morning meds (last dose more than 47 hours ago). I won’t be taking today either. I do plan on taking a 50mg dose Saturday morning for energy to enjoy dancing that night. I am going to drink 2 cups decaf and might lie down again. I guess that that is the case for me, going from catabolic to anabolic, since I finally started to gain a little bit weight. I googled (dmso vs "tetrahydrofurfuryl disulfide") and got so many hits, but can't find one that says TDF is a component of DSMO....As our son grew we worked to reduce the sugar in his diet, but were not sugar free. From 2012 to 2014 he was on this regimen of sugary drinks and foods, recommended by a scientist and the dysautonomia symptoms ramped up from that, I think. I took massive amounts of b12 supplements and ate beef liver and salmon everyday. The beef liver was the major thing that would make me feel okay, and I didn’t understand why. I’d tried b1 supplements before, but these were all the water soluble form. However, under long-term conditions of oxidative stress, chronic KGDH inhibition is thought to be a driving factor underlying many neurodegenerative diseases. In chronic fatigue syndrome, recent metabolomic analysis found that one of the few metabolites (out of 800+) elevated with statistical significance was alpha-ketoglutarate, which is perhaps also consistent with chronic KGDH inhibition. I had a great time dancing last night. I had more energy and better balance & coordination. And, my shoulders didn’t ache like my arms had been holding up 50 lb weights for hours (90% better). Mosquitoes now hate me… A google search indicates B1 keeps insects away (I sure hope Deer Flies too). I will pay the cost of TTDF just for insect repellant…

Benfotiamine, sulbutiamine and TTFD may increase brain levels of thiamine, support cognition and central nervous system function. A typically sized sulbutiamine capsule contains 200 mg, for whatever that is worth. Is that because it’s often used at far higher doses than TTFD, that it’s a cheaper ingredient so they can afford to put more in per capsule, or that TTFD is significantly stronger per mg than sulbutiamine, I can’t say. Only that the chemicals should have similar mechanisms of action. But the b12 was the only thing that made me feel any better, even though the constant state of apathy I lived in. I had no energy and no strength whatsoever. re: magnesium, I take three Jigsaw magnesium tablets per day (375mg elemental Mg), along with a large number of other supplements.Continuing to take the Alithiamine, after a few weeks, my stools just became what I would call “perfect” bowel movements, consistently. I was astonished. I also tended to feel a bit more energy and have not really felt any “air hunger” to an extreme level in quite a while. I continued taking it for a few months at the same 1 capsule 50mg dose until then I stopped taking Alithiamine for a little while to see what would happen and I noticed a slight increase in “air hunger” and constipation after a week or so. So I started taking it again and I noticed the symptoms decreased again. I am looking for the possibility of being able to do the ETK test to confirm a diagnosis but it is difficult here, so it may not be possible. Is it safe to be taking as much as I am, given the blood levels? I know they aren’t well correlated, but I don’t know what to say to my doctor at this point other than “it seems to be working?”
