The noise is so loud and irritating that I don't think I can live with it. I think I either need to find someone to fix it or the car will need to go.

Last thought I ended up putting some felt tape between the small plastic moulding where the glovebox meets the centre console, maybe press around there while it's happening as well.However, I decided that I could make it much better by buying some rubber sealing strip and inserting it between the dash and windscreen. Once installed, the strip was pretty much invisible unless you knew it was there, and it did completely silence any of the exsiting dashboard noises. And I felt pretty pleased with myself .. for a while. I was told that "several" companies make foam sleeves that slide over the existing cable housing to damper the rattling. Loose trim parts are often behind the various rattling sounds your dash might produce. The plastic and metal bits that make up the surface layer of your dashboard shouldn’t be vibrating against each other. Even more importantly, they shouldn’t be shaking against the internal components that keep them fixed in place. Either way, if they have too much leeway, you’ll have to take it away.

I had bump last week and got a new is loan car. I had to go round the seals on this as it was driving me mad. Please note, I'm not OCD or anything, the only car I have had in the past that has had as many rattles as this car was a Rover 25! I've not been to the dealer about any as I don't have any close by... After you remove the trim panels that are making the noise, look at what they’re hiding. Reach into the compartment and try to shake any of the parts you see. Even if you get your hands on the proper tools, you should look up videos of other people dismantling the dashboard of your vehicle model. Stuffed this entire area with foam strips, not a 100% fix yet so need another go at it, but I think the source of the issue is the lower narrow panel, so going to try and build more tension in an isolate it a bit better. or maybe the airbag fixing. only rattles when cold, but it is a persistent one until the car warms up. I cut a grout sponge (or car wash sponge) into about 4 pieces and stuffed them into the downtube, evenly spaced. No more rattles. Easy to pull out with a flexible claw retrieval tool. Rough terrain causes the chain to slap against the frame. Assuming your chain is the correct length, and you’re not ready to splash out on a clutch derailleur and narrow/wide chainring, the first thing to do is make sure your chainstay armour is up to scratch. After you park, try to replicate the sound manually — it goes without saying, but you should take the key out of the ignition at this point. Again, you’ll want to push against the dashboard, but avoid punching it. The impact noise may conceal the underlying rattle. Besides, using unnecessary force can often exacerbate the problem. 2. Open the Trim Panels and Secure the Internal Components Very happy with the door seals suggestion! This was driving me nuts and yes, it does sound like the seat belt mechanism! My solution is to just apply silicon spray on a rag and apply. I do not want to add any substance that could start to build up. Works a treat, very Lexus quiet again! It is only the right-rear door that was doing it. It happens to be the door that stays closed most of the time. The dealer looked for the rattle many times and was not able to fix. it. As a Lexus dealer you would think that noisy door seals could be common. Anyway, this is really a great forum and happy to have joined. Internal cable routing is pretty standard kit now, but those cables are often free to move about inside your frame, turning the thing into a musical (if sonically awful) instrument. Like a banjo, basically. Green isolators (hard polypropylene isolator) assembled as standard, allowing rainscreen installations to benefit from the low thermal conductivity values associated with reduced thermal bridging within the design. To test if you need to do this see if cleaning the seal and I interfaces helps. I used a product recommended on here (Gummi nueflitz or something, I'll confirm if you want to go Down that route). This sorted the seal rattles on mine for a few months. Before you get too excited, though, keep in mind that those magnets were designed for Volkswagen glove boxes. However, as the guy in the video says, they may work on other vehicles as well. I suppose you’ll have to test that yourself. 5.
