Batman’s gloves have seen massive redesigning over time. Believe it or not, when the gloves debuted in Detective Comics # 27, they were purple-colored. And there was nothing out of the ordinary about these gloves apart from the color. The gloves then evolved into Batman gauntlets for the first time in Detective Comics # 31 and extended just a little bit beyond the standard glove length. Once you open up the blaster, it’s easy to deduce why ranges are limited. The spring, while strong, powers a very small plunger tube. In addition, the effective barrel is maybe a quarter of an inch – after that, the barrel opens up and vents all the remaining air. It’s possible to put a sleeve around the barrel (~5/8″ diameter), but given the tiny air volume, I’m not sure it would make a difference. Last Word

I sat down to design a gauntlet based on several concept drawings I found on the Internet. This drawing was what I came up with. The Batman Gauntlet comes with accessories for both arms. Wrist guards on either side hold three darts each. The wrist guard on the right side, however, shares straps with the arm-mounted blaster. The straps used for tightening the blaster are flexible plastic lengths with teeth on them. They’re not the most secure thing in the world, but generally speaking they do the job. Overall, it’s quite fun to use, and I’ve spent plenty of time at home with it equipped, taking shots at targets whenever the mood strikes. Assuming there are other accessories or costume pieces, kids will enjoy fighting crime as Batman. One of my friends dressed as Bane and wanted to fight. While it was a great picture opportunity, it broke the spikes. This time I wanted them to hold up to anything. As a result, I decided I would make them very solid (and actually rather dangerous). The rest of the patterns were made a little more free hand. I made another shape to act as a control panel. Then I placed paper over the top of this and drew out a basic design onto it. This was then cut out to serve as the pattern.

It has been 3 years since I last made my Batman costume. In that time I have learned so much about foam construction. I knew could make something so much better. At DC Fandome 2021, The Batman’sDirector Matt Reeves shared: One of the things about [ The Batman‘s] Batsuit is that it is very practical. The whole idea is that he’s made it himself. And so, we needed to be able to see how it would fit on him and all the ways he could move but also make it look like something that was still evolving. Even the idea of the story, he’s in year two so he’s been wearing it and so every night, he goes out looking for trouble. You look at his cowl and actually see there are gashes in it. All of that detail was an incredibly exciting dialogue between me and the costume designers and then having Rob involved. LEGO’s The BatmanBatmobile set also gives us a closer look at the car. In it, we can more clearly see how the Batmobile has many raw edges. But not to be underestimated, the LEGO Batmobile promises two spring-loaded shooters that launch mega missiles. Haphazard, but deadly. And, of course, nothing says edgy like blue flame shooting behind you. The Riddler had better watch out. The Gauntlet won’t be setting any performance records. Far from it! But for the kid who wants to be Batman during playtime, it’s a nifty addition to the collection. Reeves again shares, “The Nolan films established the Batmobile as a tank, which was a brilliant idea… But I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if this guy is a loner and a gearhead and fashioning these things by himself, taking parts of other cars and kit cars? So it’s recognizable as a car this time. But it’s like a muscle car. One that he’s made himself.”First up, a full look at the concept art of the suit. Once the lines were drawn, I cut into it with my utility knife. Once the cut is in place, you can go over it with the heat gun and it opens it up. For example, over time, his suit has evolved into an armored suit instead of a regular one that uses bullet-proof materials to avoid bullets. Similarly, his Batarangs and utility belt, his weapons, everything now finds basis in technology to explain their use. Even the spikes on Batman’s gloves evolved into detachable projectiles of sorts that Batman uses against his enemies.

The Batmobile] has to make an appearance out of the shadows to intimidate, so I thought of it almost like Stephen King’s Christine. I liked the idea of the car itself as a horror figure, making an animalistic appearance to really scare the hell out of the people Batman’s pursuing. You could do maybe one shot every five seconds? The last of the Batman signature trifecta is the Batcave. And while we might typically imagine a high-tech stronghold.
