One of the hardest things I ever have to tell anyone is that to get their dog over separation anxiety, they need to find ways not to leave their dog in the meantime. Remember, separation anxiety training isn’t about instant gratification. It’s a long-term investment for your dog’s wellbeing (and your wellbeing too!). When I first started searching for books on how to treat my dog's separation anxiety, I was disappointed to find either books with outdated information, or books that were written a trainer audience taking on SA clients instead of an owner audience for those caring for SA dogs.
