Sadly, the majority of the available EIC footage is of such poor visual quality (on a scale of bad to very bad), that no amount of polishing, upscaling, converting, call it what you will, is ever going to make it watchable. That's the question: which is the best version of This Is Elvis on DVD? I know there were several versions (the theatrical release, and the special edition) but I misplaced my specific DVD of This Is Elvis. Anyway, I am collecting and up-converting to 4K all possible versions of the 1977 CBS special footage for a new, Special Edition version of my original fan edit: this time in 4K. The 2007 is factory pressed while the 2019 is on a burned disc but a legitimate release part of the Warner Archive. Yes. You are right. Sadly, this is all we have. So there is not much to work with. I'm glad you liked the opening sequence!
